Why You Shouldn't Advertise on Facebook: Special Guest Mike Grande

Why You Shouldn't Advertise on Facebook: Special Guest Mike Grande

Advertising should be a part of any good marketing strategy. A marketing strategy that is driven by paid ads is a strategy that lacks foundation. A  strategy that lacks foundation produces mixed results.
Your marketing foundation is defined by 4 elements
Understanding the world view of your ideal customer (don't underestimate the importance of this) Developing your purpose statement, your reason for existing, and how you make the world a better place. It's your rally cry at staff meetings.  Creating a core sales message that combines your customer's world view with your purpose statement Expressing your core values and message on your website. Once these components are in place you can begin to consider moving into social media and ultimately paid ads. Paid ads serve one purpose; get people to your website. If your website lacks a clear and customer-centric message you're unlikely to motivate them to take the next step.

Tremendous Content

This has become one of my favorite podcasts. I'm an instructor who struggles to maintain good enrollment numbers. My husband is active duty military and it seems by the time I finally get established by reputation and word-of-mouth, it's time to pack up the family, move across the country (or across the globe), and start over from scratch. I decided that this time to be more proactive about marketing, but I'm definitely more of a teacher/artist and less of a business person so I've struggled with knowing where to even begin.

He has so many ideas for running the business side of a studio that I am blown away. While I don't necessarily agree 100% with everything he says, he has challenged my long-held beliefs about music studios and teaching lessons and he's given me plenty to think about. I have learned so much every single episode, and I am grateful for all of this amazing content he has put out here to share with people like me. Thank you, Dave!

Loving this podcast!

Dave- I am really enjoying your podcast such good information for schools and soloprenuers in this space. I’m wondering if you might do an episode for the musicians out there who are ready to take the risk and transition from the day job to solo teaching or starting a school but might benefit from your knowledge and experience before they take the risk.

Again I’m loving the show and your episodes on marketing please keep em coming!

Cheers!
