As Calgary’s premier music event, the YYC MUSIC AWARDS shines a spotlight on artists from one of Canada’s most vibrant and eclectic music scenes. The YYC MUSIC AWARDS celebrates the artists that embrace Calgary as home; entertaining and supporting its arts and culture.

Coming into our eighth year, the YYC Music Awards continues to grow and evolve and saw a dramatic increase in artists submissions for 2022.
After presenting a digital, online streaming event for the previous two years due to COVID-19 restrictions, the YYC Music Awards Foundation was thrilled to host a live event for the 2022 Awards Gala at the Grey Eagle Casino Event Centre.

On September 18, 2022, they had a wildly successful night, honouring nominees in 25 categories at the amazing venue that is the Grey Eagle Casino Event Centre.

YYC MUSIC AWARDS is well under way in the 2023 season, with submissions opening on March 1st, and are excited to announce 2 new categories this year; Community Ensemble Recording of the Year and Music Educator (and/or Ensemble Director) of the Year, bringing us to a total of 27 award categories this year. We are thrilled to be partnering with CADME (Calgary Association for the Development of Music Education), as the sponsor for the Music Educator of the Year Award.
The YYC Music Awards Foundation is also grateful to Craig Senyk Initiatives, who will once again present the 2023 YYC Music Awards as the Gala sponsor.
We are proud to see this year is lining up to be an even bigger event. Join us at the Grey Eagle Casino Event Centre on Sunday, September 24, 2023 as Calgary’s Music Community and fans gather to celebrate our own talented and diverse music scene.

Volunteering at YYCMA
Events like the YYC Music Awards rely heavily on the generosity of volunteers to make it a success. To our volunteers, we genuinely thank you for the gift of your time and your talents.
If you are interested in helping in any way, please select "I Want to Volunteer" from the dropdown below and fill out our form to give us an idea of where your interests lie. Past positions include: ticket taking, guest list recording, handing out programs, ushering guests to proper check-in lines, assisting guests with seating questions, ushering winners and presenters to the stage, and stage load in and load out.
Once we have a list of jobs we will be contacting all the volunteers who submitted. We thank you in advance!
