Breath of fresh air
I have had the privilege of knowing Marianne, since my first year of college when I studied privately w her. Here I am nearly 30(!) years later and I’m honored to count her as a friend and mentor. This podcast allows everyone to enjoy her unique insight and her kind, affable nature. This podcast is about music, but it’s really larger than that…it’s about living and being a human who happens to play music. Her concept of “chicken vision and eagle vision” is a cornerstone of my personal thinking and is a great aid personally and musically. I am so glad this podcast is available so everyone can benefit from Marianne and all she has to offer.
Perfection!
I have had the great privilege of having Marianne as a teacher, mentored, and friend for 20 years. These podcasts are gold. They perfectly encapsulate her incredibly caring personality while explaining her method in an accessible way. Karen does a great job of asking probing questions. There is nothing quite so amazing as hearing Marianne unpack and simplify what we musicians are told are complex issues. I’m so grateful for Marianne and how incredibly meaningful her work has been to me and how much my students have benefited from what I learned.
Great for all musicians and lovers of music
Marianne’s insight into how we understand and learn music and how to overcome the difficulties in our understanding is incredibly valuable to anyone studying or listening to music today.
