93 episodes

The My Peace Corps Story Podcast showcases some of the many diverse and vibrant stories of Peace Corps Volunteers, in their own words. Hear the varied experiences had by generations of Americans when they devoted two or more years of their life to national service abroad.

While often cited as a positive, life-changing experience, service in the Peace Corps is not easy. This show portrays Peace Corps service as it is, both the good and the bad. The host of the show, Tyler Lloyd, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso and would “gladly and proudly do it all again.” The difficulties and risks of serving abroad, however, should not be understated or taken lightly.

My Peace Corps Story Podcast will captivate you with the personal stories of Americans working and living abroad. Each episode, we explore the cultures, communities, and people that make the Peace Corps an unparalleled experience, filled with stories worth telling.

I love this podcast! Had my interview a week ago!

I love listening to new episodes every week! I had my Peace Corps interview last week and I’m anxiously and impatiently waiting to hear back. My interviewer in DC told me she has actually met you before after I told her I listen to this podcast. Listening to this podcast makes me incredibly excited for a peace corps experience of my own. Thanks for working so hard on this podcast, Tyler! It has helped me get a better understanding of what peace corps service entails, the good and the not so good. Keep it up!

Absolutely perfect for aspiring PCVs

The My Peace Corps Story podcast has become one of my all-time favorite podcasts. I have been seriously considering joining the Peace Corps for a while now but I wanted to hear about the actual experiences of volunteers- good and bad. This podcast has made me realize without a doubt that Peace Corps is right for me and has shown me what to expect. I know Tyler tries to keep the podcast around an hour long but honestly I wish they were longer! I would love to just listen to a casual, off-the-script conversation where they exchange stories and memories. I would listen for hours! I binge-listened to all of them within a matter of weeks and cannot wait for Tuesday’s to come with another episode. Thanks for all you do Tyler!!

Keeping things in mind

Last week, it was yet another Peace Corps week since I completed service and, as always, I go back in time in a way. I love this podcast. I really like Tyler's podcast for the focus on both the shared and diverse experiences PCVs have, while giving due respect to the complicated issues involved. Looking forward to future episodes.
