Intersect is a four-building office campus in Irvine. The assignment was complex. It was selling a product type (office) that was highly out of favor, in an undesirable market due to competitive landlords in a rising interest rate environment. JLL recognized that in order to be successful, they had to be creative and develop an investment thesis backed by empirical data, to prove office leasing demand and value appreciation would continue despite current headwinds in market fundamentals.

Prior to joining Scannell, Jay was a Senior Development Manager for Panattoni Development Company and was an office tenant rep broker with JLL in Orange County. Prior to his career in commercial, Jay served six years in the U.S. Navy in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom as a supply officer in logistics/supply chain management. A self proclaimed "deal guy at heart", Jay is an active mentor and cultivator of young professionals.



In this episode, Jay takes us on a journey through his career and details his transition from the military to the commercial real estate brokerage community.
