The story Rupert Murdoch doesn't want you to know about the beginnings of Fox News. My guest is Pulitzer award winner David L Marcus, Roy Cohn's cousin. This episode explores the unlikely alliance between Roy Cohn, Rupert Murdoch, and Ronald Reagan. We delve into how Rupert Murdoch gained traction in the media business in exchange for positive write-ups for Ronald Reagan in the New York Post. We explore Cohn's "Favor Bank" style of bartering, the close relationship between Ronald Reagan and Murdoch, and how this led to Murdoch getting sweetheart deals from Reagan's FCC. We then discuss the transaction-oriented politics of Murdoch and the role Wendy Deng and the Chinese market played in it.

Russia's new offensive in Ukraine failed to materialize on the first anniversary of the war's start.
Some people are crediting Joe Biden's visit to Ukraine earlier in the week for Russia's decision not to ramp up their attacks on Ukrainian forces and civilians. In this episode, I spoke with Ruslan Deynychenko, executive director of StopFake.org, about Biden's recent visit to Kyiv. He shared his experience living in Kyiv during a war and how the conflict has had a negative impact on children and families. We also discussed the potential for increased Chinese support for Russian forces and the devastating effects that would have on the region. Deynychenko talked about the work of Stop Fake and how it has successfully tackled misinformation and disinformation in Ukraine.
Lastly, we discussed the ongoing disinformation offensive around the world and how it has been used to divide people.

We look at the global confrontation between the forces of democracy and the forces of dictatorship and the need to call out and sanction entities that work around the sanctions. We hear a warning from the leaders at the Munich conference to China against exporting weapons to Russia and the subsequent revelations of American intelligence. We also explore China's reported negotiations to supply Russia with Kamikaze drones and China's supplying components and know-how so Russia can produce up to one hundred drones a month. The alleged corruption of FBI supervising agent Charles McGonigal led us to revisit the 2016 FBI probes into both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. We found an FBI Director determined to interfere in the elections, a lead investigator who dismissed crucial evidence instead of pursuing less credible leads, and McGonigal's fingerprints on two significant aspects of the investigation.
