You can hear Summer's enthusiasm for nature and storytelling the moment you start listening to this podcast. Her bubbly personality bursts through your speakers, and she has a way of evoking great stories out of total strangers. This podcast encourages its listeners to connect to the two most nurishing aspects of the human experience: the natural world and each other.

You feel like you’re traveling with Summer which makes this show so unique! I haven’t traveled across the US much so this show gives me a behind the scenes sneak peak on what that would look like.

For me, it doesn’t get much better than meeting someone I can totally “nerd out” with on the topic of National Parks. In between trips, I crave that kind of interaction. Summer’s interviews fill that need for me. I feel like I’m in the seat behind them on the the bus, listening in, smiling and nodding along.

Growing up as a poor minority Disney World and National Parks and Forests were off the menu. Because my mother worked for DCFS as a foster parent our family did get to take part in a yearly Family Day Picnic, usually at Peoria’s Glen Oak Zoo or Wild Life Prairie State Park. My love for the great outdoors and it’s wildlife started early. These park visits were some of my earliest and fondest memories. This podcast takes me there. To those distant sights, sounds and smells. That calm. For a lot of people sixty National Parks is out of the question but for those interested this is the next best thing. The interviews and insight will guide you through these Parks and their intricacies. They’re all different. Every park has a story. Summer is here to tell them.
