Natchez Glen House Stories Episode 57 Michael Marriott

To be a major part of building a legacy for roses is an incredible journey and that is exactly what Michael Marriott has achieved. Michael recently retired from David Austin Roses where he worked for four decades. He's one of the most respected people in the world of roses and one of my favorite guests. In this story we explore what his retirement has meant for him, the changes in gardening over the last year, and the traveling he's looking forward to again.

Michael also along with his partner Rosie, future podcast guest, are offering garden tours in the UK which I can't recommend enough. For more information visit Michael's website below and follow him on social media as well.

Natchez Glen House Stories Episode 56 Annie Guilfoyle

Natchez Glen House Stories Episode 56 Annie Guilfoyle

One of the best trends in gardening has been so many great gardening and horticulture experts sharing their knowledge. One of those stepping to the forefront of that has been Annie Guilfoyle. Annie is an exceptional garden designer and has taught garden design all over the world. She co-created the Garden Masterclass program. It is an absolutely fantastic program with some of the most talented people in the world of gardening participating. Originally the program toured gardens in the UK and Europe but like so many things in 2020 pivoted to an online platform. Annie and I share the story of how that transition took place and her perspective on so many things in the gardening world.

Excellent Fact Driven Resource

As a fairly new flower grower I enjoy listening to Steve at Natchez Glen for his fact driven information that he so passionately shares. His topics inspire me to do more research and to apply his tips to growing my garden areas and production crops. Steve is a valuable resource for following for all things plants and for gardening in the south!

Steve is on the Correct Gardening Path

I just discovered Steve and Natchez Glen through The Flower Podcast, and I immediately started to binge Natchez Glen House Stories. Blown away by the quality of the content! Then I heard episode 61–Steve, my friend, you are on the right path. If I knew you, I’d give you a hug, man. Some people garden for just a reason or a season. A true gardener is in this for a lifetime. (I pretty much stole that quotation, but it’s sincere.) This podcast is terrific! You don’t need to prove anything; enjoy the rare moments gardening brings us and make amazing memories. I sure hope you decide to keep sharing some of the stories from that experience with your audience. (Old and new!)

Steve follows the science, not the insta.

Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and a lot of passion to his podcasts, and the guests on the show are phenomenal. I’m a garden writer and I worked in the industry for many years, so I appreciate his efforts to educate both new and experienced gardeners about what is happening in the industry. I love listening to very smart people talk about soil, plants, and the future of gardening in this country. This podcast is where I find all of that. Steve cuts through the social media crap, and is a breathe of fresh air. I listen to a lot of podcasts these days and this is a favorite.
