On 1 April 2024, all rates of the National Minimum Wage, including the National Living Wage, will increase. These increases implement recommendations made by the Low Pay Commission in autumn 2023. The rates which will come into effect from 1 April 2024 are as follows.

NMW rate from 1 April 2024 Increase in pence Percentage increase
National Living Wage (21 and over) £ 11.44 £ 1.02 9.8%
18-20 Year Old Rate £ 8.60 £ 1.11 14.8%
16-17 Year Old Rate £ 6.40 £ 1.12 21.2%
Apprentice Rate £ 6.40 £ 1.12 21.2%
Accommodation Offset £ 9.99 £ 0.89 9.8%
The report published here looks at the likely effects of the incoming rates, and sets out the LPC’s projection of the National Living Wage rate for April 2025. This projection is based on the Government’s remit to the LPC for 2024, which asks us to recommend a rate which keeps the NLW at two-thirds of median pay. We project an NLW remaining at two-thirds of median pay to be between £11.61 and £12.18 (with a central estimate of £11.89) in April 2025.
