    HUGE interview with Brent Butt

    HUGE interview with Brent Butt

This was a bucket list type interview for me and I think it shows. I did my best to keep my cool but a certain element of fandom comes through.

    From BrentButt.com:

Brent Butt has long been considered one of the funniest people in Canada, with a career in stand-up comedy that stretches into five decades, including numerous appearances at major festivals in multiple countries and being voted Best Male Stand-Up in Canada by his peers in the profession. He also created and starred in two successful sitcoms – CORNER GAS and HICCUPS. When you add in two theatrical comedy films (NO CLUE, CORNER GAS: THE MOVIE) and four seasons of an animated TV spinoff, it may seem surprising that Brent’s new venture has taken a rather dark turn.

    THE DARK TURN…

Brent has written his debut novel – an intense, gritty psychological thriller called HUGE (from Doubleday Canada – Oct. 2023). The story follows three comedians on a rough run of shows through a remote stretch of rural countryside, as their priorities shift from getting laughs to fighting for their lives.

Optimisic Political Talk with Mike Le Couteur

Optimisic Political Talk with Mike Le Couteur

Mike is a rare breed in Canada. He's an observer of our political system but is somehow not jaded or downtrodden. He remains optimistic and that's the message that comes through loud and clear during my chat with him.

His enthusiasm for political news has been at the core of his career which started in his hometown of Montreal in 1999.

As Senior Political Correspondent for CTV News Channel, Le Couteur has his ear to the ground in the nation’s capital where the decisions affecting Canadians are made.

Over the course of his career, Mike has covered some of the biggest stories in North America, including the Dawson College shooting in 2006, Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the Lac-Megantic rail disaster in 2013 and the 2017 Quebec City Mosque shooting.

Mike has also been on the front lines of the most important Canadian political stories for more than a decade, from the Mike Duffy expense scandal, to the Idle No More movement, and NAFTA negotiations, as well as three federal elections.

He has reported from 6 continents, 26 countries and all of Canada’s 10 provinces and 3 territories.

Perfect podcast

This pod is smart, funny, relevant, and short. Joe knows that no one wants to hear him talk for 40 mins so he gives it to you quick. And who doesn’t love a quickie? This pod is great for dads, nerds, and nerdy dads. Now we just got to get Joe to watch “The Mandalorian”.

Funny and real

Just listened to the first few episodes and can’t wait to listen to more! Joe’s perspective on fatherhood is both humorous and relatable.
