James 1:1 // We Are Slaves of Christ

James 1:1 // We Are Slaves of Christ

Despite being a recognized apostle and the half-brother of Jesus, James identifies himself as, "a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ". In this study, we'll talk about what it means to be a slave to Christ, and why it's the most blessed and free way to live.

John 20:19-20 // Unmet Expectations & Unexpected Joy

John 20:19-20 // Unmet Expectations & Unexpected Joy

On the first Easter Sunday, we find the disciples hiding together for fear of the religious leaders. Their expectations of who Jesus was and what He came to do were dashed to pieces when He was brutally murdered at the hands of the Romans. But all their unmet expectations evaporated when the resurrected Messiah walked into the room. This same Jesus will still change anyone’s life today when He meets with them too.

Acts 28:2-31 // The Gospel is Not Bound

Acts 28:2-31 // The Gospel is Not Bound

Paul continues his journey to Rome being used by God mightily along the way and, according to Church tradition, planting churches everywhere he went. And as we wrap up the Book of Acts, we are reminded that most of the time, the glorious truth of the good God is doing in each of us will only be revealed over time.

Acts 28:30-31 // The Kingdom of God

Acts 28:30-31 // The Kingdom of God

The final scene in the book of Acts doesn’t appear to be all that inspiring. The Apostle Paul is under house arrest in Rome. He’s allowed visitors, but he isn’t allowed to travel anywhere. But that’s OK. Because placing an Apostle under house arrest cannot stop the Kingdom of God from advancing.

Pressing On to the Abundant Life

Pressing On to the Abundant Life

Jesus said that He came to give His followers abundant life. But none of us are magically transported into this blessing once we become a Christian. We need to follow Jesus by faith, through obstacles that stand in the way of us experiencing the quality of life that our Lord came to give us.

Love the message! Hate the gum! 😅

Man I sure do love listening to your sermons on my way to work each day! Today I listened to Genesis 1:3-5 and the teacher in me wanted to send you to spit out that chewing gum.🤪 But great stuff nevertheless. I love it. Thank you.

Modern day John the Baptist right here

My goal is to listen to every single sermon Pastor Thompson has preached. My life is forever changed because of his ministry. I liken his preaching to eating a gourmet meal of teaching the Word of God. The quality and insight of his teaching is absolutely superb. He is a gifted communicator, has profound insight into the deeper truths of God's Word, never seeks to bring glory to himself, and is very thoughtful in his doctrine and theology to ensure that it lines up as perfectly as possible with the Word of God. If you want to hear more of his messages from years prior to 2016, you'll have to download Podbean or listen on the website. Go listen to Revelation!!
