Beyond Grief - Part 1 with Pastor Joe Wickman | 5.9.21
Life can be filled with moments of great joy and celebration – but it can also bring moments, days, and even years of great grief. Some people may think that as Christians, God somehow shields us from all pain and sorrow in this life – but even Jesus himself experienced deep grief while on earth. In part one of "Beyond Grief", Pastor Joe teaches us that though life is messy and we may be challenged with loss, grief is not the end when we are in Christ. We may not continuously understand God’s purposes, but He is trustworthy – and will use everything for good in the end.
Welcome to the Family - Part 9 with Pastor Joe Wickman | 5.4.21
Although it's unfortunate, it is common for many Christians to feel inadequate in their prayer lives. But because of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit living in us, we get to talk to the Father as His beloved children without fear of being "good enough"! In the finale of "Welcome to the Family", Pastor Joe digs into God's Word to reveal the access that is possible for each of us in prayer. He then asks the Holy Spirit to guide us through the questions, "What is God pleased with in my life?" "What needs to change?" and "What needs healing?"
Welcome to the Family - Part 8 with Pastor Jordan Dunlap | 5.2.21
The state of the world today makes it pretty easy to find things to be afraid of. There’s fear of failure, fear of what other people think of us, fear that the difficult circumstances we’re in will never change... the list goes on. But we can’t accomplish what we were created to do in this life unless we stand up to our fear. So how do we overcome it? In part 7 of "Welcome to the Family", Pastor Jordan reminds us that we must utilize the Spirit God has put inside of us to combat fear - with His power, love, and wisdom. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can conquer fear and live in a Spirit of boldness that allows us to fulfill our purpose.
Welcome to the Family - Part 7 with Pastor Joe Wickman | 4.25.21
Depending on who it is, ‘reminding people of someone’ can be a good thing... or a bad thing. Who we resemble has an impact on the world around us, as different people’s identities carry different character traits. So who should we look like the most? In part 6 of “Welcome to the Family”, Pastor Joe teaches us that the Holy Spirit alone gives us the ability to look like Jesus - by acting how He did while He was on earth. When we do so, we can transform the lives of those close to us through His perfect love.
Welcome to the Family - Part 6 with Pastor Joe Wickman | 4.18.21
It can be comical looking back to when we were young and we “rebelled” against our parents, teachers, or other authorities thinking that true freedom comes from living life by our own rules. But it’s not so funny when we grow up and don't change that mindset - causing damage to ourselves and the people around us. In Part 6 of "Welcome to the Family", Pastor Joe reminds us to pay attention to God’s guidance in the Bible so that we don't end up crashing through life’s ups and downs in our own limited ability. Luckily, God offers the members of His spiritual family all the power they need through His Holy Spirit so that we can lead lives that please Him.
Welcome to the Family - Part 5 with Pastor Joe Wickman | 4.11.21
In our Spiritual lives, there’s often something inside of us that likes keeping rules and earning “points”. Maybe we think that if we’re good, God will owe us, and we’ll get what we want. Or if we’re bad, maybe we’ll be punished. But that’s not how God works! In Part 5 of "Welcome to the Family", Pastor Joe reveals the truth of God’s word – that because Jesus broke the power of sin over us, we are free to live holy lives that please God – not based on our human works, but by the grace of living with His Holy Spirit. We were adopted so we could live free!
Passionately sharing freedom and wholeness
The more ways we can share the good news of the freedom and wholeness that can be found in Christ, the better! I’m so blessed to be part of this church and I’m praying these podcasts reach many!
I’m so happy we’re able to reach out with the Good News of Jesus via podcasts. This is the message that changed my life, and I hope it will change yours too.
When my Mom & Dad started bringing me to this church in 1984, the best we could do to get the message out of the room was to make tapes and hand them to friends. But now we’re using every means we can to get the word out.
Thanks for listening!
