Temptation Effects Everyone
Temptation - to entice 
Temptation is a tool used by the devil, to try to Entice You Into A Life Of Sin, to Entice You with sinful thoughts that lead to sinful actions.

Temptation Is A Drag
James 1:13-15 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 
Sanctification

Enticed - to be lured by bait
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.  3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” 
#1 He was tempted in appetites
Appetites don’t lead, truth leads! 
Does truth bow to appetites or do appetites bow to truth? 
Matthew 4:5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For  it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” 
#2 He was tempted in approval
Whose approval really matters to you? 
Where you look for approval is where you give your allegiance.

#3 He was tempted to accelerate
Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For say this with me one more time:  it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
The primary battlefield where the devil will challenge us with temptations is in our minds.
John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”The freedom you need from temptation is found in the word of God and in the work of Jesus.
