A Path To Greatness - Josh Blount New Song Church OKC

    • Christianity

God created you to be great.
We were created to bear the image of greatness
The process of the path produces the power for the platform.
Matthew 20:20-21Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him. 21 “What is it you want?” he asked. She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”
Matthew 20:22“You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them.
Matthew 20:22“Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”
Matthew 20:25Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you.
Matthew 20:26Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”.
God is not trying to move you from greatness to servanthood. He wants to move you to greatness through servanthood.
Servanthood Is The Path To The Greatness Of God In Our Life
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve.”
Matthew 20:28Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”.
God is a servant.
1. Jesus served big needs
2. Jesus served small needs
3. Jesus served ugly needs
Matthew 25:40Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
4. Jesus served servers
Luke 9:12“Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.” 13 He replied, “You give them something to eat.”
God is master of disguise.
