A theory is defined as an idea used to account for a situation or to justify a course of action. It can sometimes answer the question “why?”, but can also be the basis of good conversation.

New Theory Radio is a weekly talk show hosted by local media personality Nav Nanwa, where we focus on the ‘why’ within the world of arts and pop culture.

Each week, he’s joined by a panel of guests to ‘theorize’ on the week’s biggest pop culture news/happenings within music, movies, television and media. He also profiles notable creatives pushing the scene forward within Peel and the World.

Topics in the past have included minority representation within the arts, classic albums, cancel culture, popular memes, mental health and more.

New Theory Radio airs on News Talk Sauga 960 AM (www.sauga960am.ca) Sundays from 5-7pm and Mondays from 8-10pm.

The podcast version is available Tuesdays via iTunes (apple.co/2s2523n) and Spotify (spoti.fi/2G6a4Th).

Episode 73. Theories on Diversity within the Film Industry, Drive-In Concerts & Artist-Led Galleries

Movies, Drive-In Concerts and Art Galleries....we're going everywhere on this week's edition of New Theory Radio.

Host Nav Nanwa welcomes PR Professional Davina Ramnarine & Film Critic Amanda Guarragi to the Pop Culture Panel. The three of them also discuss the phenomenon behind Drive-In Concerts, which have been popping up all over the place lately.

We also have a double feature for our #NTRSpotlight. First we profile artist-led gallery Beaux Arts Brampton with Managing Director Regan Hayward. Regan talks about how the gallery has pivoted their efforts over the last few months. Episode 71. Theories on Thank Me Later...10 Years Later, Movie Productions During COVID, & Love Hard

Less pressure than a debut album is this week's NTR!

Host Nav Nanwa is joined by Creative Director Jawn Taboika and TV Producer Akilah Prendes on this week's Pop Culture Panel.

We talk about Drake's #ThankMeLater album...ten years later.  We dive deep into the significance this had on Drake's legacy, the Toronto Hip Hop scene, and how it's aged over time. We also talk about the new Jurassic World movie resuming production amidst this pandemic, and what that means for the movie industry going forward.

As well, this week's #NTRSpotlight features singer/songwriter Nova Lush. She talks to Nav about her album 'Love Hard', her song going viral in the Ukraine, and using her platform to talk about the injustice issues currently plaguing the world.
