Welcome to the video game anniversary podcast! Here’s how it works:First we research which games came out last week, way in the past. For example, our first episode was the week of July 8th-July 14th during the years 1990-1995. Goof Troop on the Super Nintendo came out on July 11th, 1993 so it was in the first episode. Next, we pick out 10 or so video games and play them over the course of one week (we say which games we are doing next week so you can play them along with us if you want). Finally, we talk about the games we played! That includes first impressions, random trivia, and bad jokes.

Put your nostalgia glasses away and take a look through some fresh eyes

Two young and plucky co-hosts are on a mission to shatter your childhood 1 mini-review at a time. That makes it sound worse than it is, but these are fresh eyes looking at classic games from the past for better and worse. No Game Left Behind lets me relive some of my favorite gaming moments. I got a little hurt they don’t think Castlevania is one of the best game series in the world. I rejoiced when they experienced the fantastic Chrono Trigger for the first time and still consider it a game everyone should play. I was intrigued by their discussion of E.V.O. having never got a chance to play it myself. Zack and Jake aren’t the old guard. These are kids who grow up on PlayStation 2s and Xbox Live. They bring none of the rose tinted world of retro gaming to the table. These are honest first impressions of some of the 8 to 32 bit classics with no filter. Yes, some of your childhood will be shattered, but you can’t find a more unbiased review for the classic games of yesteryear.
