#17 The Devil In The Kitchen ft. Lewis Bassett
Why are we so obsessed with chefs? Well, a lot of that has to do with Marco Pierre White. In this episode titled after White's Autobiography, I'm joined by chef, researcher, and host of The Full English Podcast Lewis Bassett.
As we delve into the psychology and career of one of the most influential chefs of the 20th century, Lewis and I will attempt to understand our cultural obsession with chefs, discuss Marco Pierre White's influence on the industry, and our own respective experiences in the world of hospitality.
Bon appétit!
Winner of the 2023 Guild of Food Writers Podcast Award, The Full English Podcast explores the sociological and historical factors that shaped the way we eat.

#15 Cinq Petites Tristesses w/ Léontine Behaeghel

#12 Blonde Like Me ft. Natalia Ilyin
Where does the myth of the blonde woman come from? Either idolized or shamed since antiquity, this episode explores the tremendous sociocultural value of blondeness and the positive or negative impact it has had on young blonde women.
Whether treated as bimbos and divas, or angels and saints, it is very clear that blonde hair in our society is so much more than just a hair color.
Joined by Natalia Ilyin, the author of Blonde Like Me: The Roots of the Blonde Myth in our culture (2000) I will be exploring the history of the representation of blonde hair in our society and dissecting the many factors that have played a role in the narrative of blonde women. Hope you enjoy!
Book: Blonde Like Me: the roots of the blonde myth in our culture by Natalia Ilyin (2000)
Other books mentioned:
On Blondes by Joanna Pitman (2003)
Read my dissertation: How do young blonde women understand blondeness and their blonde identity? (2023)
