So begins the prologue of our first Mothership Sci-Fi Horror RPG Campaign, NWTBPODCAST Presents: Ghosts and The Machine, our actual play of Gradient Decent.
Before heading to The Deep, the characters begin their journey aboard the Prospero's Dream, the pirate space station featured in the Mothership RPG adventure: A Pound of Flesh.

Came for the Mothership, stayed for the hijinx
Ok hijinx maybe a stretch but the interaction of the players is relaxed & fun to listen to. They do a good job of editing, and still keeping enough normal table conflict in place so it doesn’t feel completely scripted. It’s also nice to listen to a RPG podcast that breaks away from a fantasy settings. I know about the previous seasons but there are too many good games out there to be limited to 5e D&D. So excellent job!
Began doing a second listen of the show and have to say I really the appreciate the unique show themes and sound work. NWTB is using this small detail of sound to build a very nicely connected and consistent universe.
NOICE!
I listen to all their Mothership content! Best I have heard. They use mostly published adventure modules, which I like to listen to for ideas when I run them. Great balance of editing and still having it seem like a game more than a scripted show. Short episode intros (no social media plugs from each player here, which I like. They just get to the good stuff). Funny outtakes at the end of episodes. Hall of the kazoo king used as argument soundtrack. Good stuff!
