It wasn't until her internship in her senior year that she discovered her interest in the nonprofit space.Family Support: Her parents had a limited education background and they were devastated when she told them she wasn't going to law school. Her advice to college students: take an internship to build your network, clarify your career path, and learn critical soft skills. It's not just about the degree.Mentorship: As she grew up, she was exposed to those in the military...not necessarily those who went to college. She naturally followed that path of those informal mentors in her community. Her first boss mentored her and it had a huge impact in her success. Sabrina mentors one person per year.
