Unlocking Your Purpose: Self-Discovery and Creative Wayfinding

Today, on Notable Leaders’ Radio, I speak with Ashley Jablow, founder of Wayfinders Collective. She dives into the importance of self-discovery, the power of letting go , and finding your purpose in creative ways.

    In today’s episode, we discuss:

Work to let go of who you think you should be and what you should do and exchange them with what is true for you.

“The more you show up authentically as yourself, the more success you will actually achieve.”

Do shiny career moves lead you to hollow achievement or to your purpose?

Allow your creativity and bravery to come together for a purpose and deep fulfillment..

Slow and steady wins the race. She tells us, ”Making change, especially meaningful change that requires us to think and dream and be bigger and more purposeful - it’s not easy, but sitting in that uncertainty and allowing answers to come is truly one of the most important skills that anyone can develop.”

Thrive and Rise: Empowering Leadership Lessons

Today, on Notable Leaders’ Radio, I speak with Stephanie Baker, Chief Experience Officer at WAEPA. She shares the role her life experiences, learnings, and challenges have played in guiding her all the way to the C-suite.

    In today’s episode, we discuss:

Never give up! No matter what others say or think if you are met with resistance when you speak up…keep on going while leaning into your support system

To live your most robust life and career, be open to new things, curious about what is possible, and have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, This will serve you in ways you can’t imagine.

When living through challenging times in your life and career, it is important to take time out for yourself.. Celebrating your wins, both large and small. Evaluate the situation, what is here to learn from, how will you show up differently next time, how can you use this experience to become even better, stronger, and wiser at what you do.

Don’t wait for your mentor to find you. Identify the person with the experience, vision, and shared values…and ask them to mentor you to achieve all you desire. That is how Stephanie found her first mentor. Working with him taught her things about herself that she didn’t know and built a strong foundation of confidence that still serves her today.

Have a strong face, not front. Be who you are.

Communications Hacks That Really Make a Difference

Communications Hacks That Really Make a Difference

Today, on Notable Leaders’ Radio, I'm going to talk about how to set yourself up for more successful communications. There is a way to really be heard. Tune in to learn my top communication hacks.

    In today’s episode, we discuss:
There is great power in establishing rapport. This one step turns a potentially challenging conversation into a productive/successful meeting.

Learn to communicate in a way that defies triggers. How do you handle things when the person you are speaking with gets triggered or even more challenging, when YOU get triggered?

The transformation that takes place when you understand the best way to connect with people.

Successful conversations must have a pre-planned beginning, middle, and end. Be clear on what you want to say and where you want it to end.

Leaders should show up to hard conversations with the intentions of creating safe space, and valuing the recipient. So even though the conversation may be challenging, they should know that it is being shared for their benefit and to meet their goals.

    Innovative Resiliency

    Innovative Resiliency

Today, on Notable Leaders’ Radio, I speak with Nelson Nigel, founder of MOTO NATION, Kidmoto, Busmoto, and Babymoto. He highlights the importance of the relentless pursuit of following your dreams, shedding dead weight, and tells us that his success is deeply connected to his emotional intelligence.

    In today’s episode, we discuss:
There is great power in resilience, determination, and the relentless pursuit of one's dreams.
Work to have an incredibly deep level of emotional intelligence. Success is determined by not only your ability to dream big and push yourself, but also by your resilience in the face of adversity.
The transformation that takes place when you get rid of dead weight, shed negativity, and remove the inconsequential energy or people from your life.
Never give up, and keep working hard. He tells us, “We can really do a lot of things if we push ourselves. Dream big, and just keep going.”
Leaders should show up ready to keep learning. Your studies should never end, you should always be creating new levels of insight.

    RESOURCES:
    Invest in MOTO NATION: https://www.motonation.us/
    Guest Bio:
Nelson is a Guyanese entrepreneur who, at 5, emigrated with his family to Queens, New York. He has lived a life of triumph and trials; his most significant moment was getting hit by a moving express subway train at age 13. Nelson miraculously survived three weeks of coma after surgeons permanently removed the top part of his forehead. Having lost all memory before that day, he has only looked forward since, unapologetically living his life aloud (as seen in Nelson's eccentric color choices with his hair and attire).
Nelson studied cultural anthropology in college and loved meeting the world as an NYC yellow taxicab and Uber driver. A defining period of his life, this is where Nelson saw a recurring issue: underserved consumers having trouble with navigating child car seats in taxis, ultimately birthing what is now known as Kidmoto.
Nelson started Kidmoto with a dream, $600 to his name, and a relentless passion to succeed. He worked hard to grow Kidmoto to 52 cities across the US. He started MOTO NATION in 2023 as the leading brand behind new companies, BUSMOTO and BABYMOTO. Nelson is a natural-born hustler, survivor, and fighter and continues to push forward with innovation and entrepreneurship.

Today, on Notable Leaders’ Radio, I speak with Perry Yeatman, Head of Corporate at Save the Children. She highlights the journey that brought her to the nonprofit world, and the importance of self awareness in finding your meaning and purpose.

    In today’s episode, we discuss:
There is great power in focusing on what you can control and where you can make a difference, and just continuing to move forward.
Work to have an incredibly deep level of self awareness. The level of success you achieve is directly related to your self awareness.
The transformation that takes place when you choose meaning and purpose over reputation and money.
You can do anything you set your mind to. Perry tells us, “It’s not magic, it’s work. It’s about being smart, and you can do it… forgive what you are not, and learn to play into your strengths.
Leaders should show up as change-makers. Passive gratitude doesn’t change the world. We need people who’ve got a lot, to give a lot.

Drawn into the conversation!

I was a guest on Belinda’s show this month and was absolutely captivated, drawn into the conversation with her — we got down to some wonderfully vulnerable, meaningful stuff right out of the starting gate. Barely over 30 minutes, and it felt like we’d known each other for years.
