Warriors 2022 NBA Draft Preview: Trade or Keep the 28th Pick? Potential Targets, Areas of Need and WHY, Better to Just Keep Andre Iguodala Instead?

Warriors 2022 NBA Draft Preview: Trade or Keep the 28th Pick? Potential Targets, Areas of Need and WHY, Better to Just Keep Andre Iguodala Instead?

The REAL offseason starts with the 2022 NBA Draft! Your World Champion Golden State Warriors' 1st round pick lands at No. 28 -- that's right, the same pick that produced both Jordan Poole (yessss!) and Jacob Evans III (noooo!). Patrick is joined by Aram in Toronto once again to talk about what he likes to call "Warriors Christmas". It's a little different from last season when the W's had two high lottery picks, so they're taking a slightly different more pragmatic approach to this year's draft. After winning a title and with a number of young high-end prospects already on the roster, what will the W's do?

(0:34) Why does Aram call the NBA Draft "Warriors Christmas"
(5:00) Different W's draft strategies and options
(11:01) What should they do do with the pick? Keep Andre instead?
(14:55) Rookies are neither 16 nor 82-game players
(16:18) What the W's needs are and what we're looking for
    (19:59) Christian Koloko
    (21:00) Jake LaRavia
    (24:09) Dalen Terry
    (26:31) Jaden Hardy
    (30:05) Max Christie
(32:41) Free agency implications on the W's draft moves

Insightful

Just found this podcast and really like it. Episode 246 show such insight into Wiggins and even more so with Bjelica! Kerr found him in game 4 in garbage time. Like possibly he could play against the Mavs team that is slow, unathletic upfront and has a bunch of short dudes. I didn’t know the team that well this year. Such insight really helped me catch up. Really enjoyable to listen to.

mcgboye ,

Very good Warriors show

I love listening to the show as soon as it's available and I am awake. The concise nature of the summary and the good knowledge of the team is much appreciated. I also love positive vibes, and the host does a decent job of that.

Bonz1977 ,

appreciate the chill vibes

I came to this podcast to learn more about the warriors so that maybe one day I’ll be able to have something to contribute in basketball conversations with my way-more-into-sports friends. I appreciate many things about it. The hosts seem to have invested in actual microphones instead of hitting record on zoom . The length is perfect. Patrick's voice is very nice, like he could moonlight in ASMR vids and he has a natural presence. I haven’t heard the other host as much but he seems great too. They don’t have I'M A SPORTS BRO energy, which is extremely rare in the sports podcasting world. Sometimes I wish they’d do a tiny bit more explaining for people like me who haven’t been watching basketball their whole lives but mostly it feels pretty accessible. Oh and my other wish for a basketball podcast is like a little more biography on players.. what are these guys like? If there were like 3 minutes of narrative in every episode I’d be so happy. Ok sorry now I’m just straight up sending editing notes to the podcast so I’ll sign off.
