On the importance of spending quality time in the outdoors, tuning into nature and building community Active Ingredient Podcast

    • Self-Improvement

Today's episode is with Nichole Powell, the founder and CEO of Kinfield, a personal care brand rooted in the joy of being outdoors that is pioneering non-toxic solutions for recreation, nature and every day use. Kinfield recently launched with a trio of products—Golden Hour (a DEET-free mosquito repellent), Sunday Spray (a cooling after-sun aloe mist), and the Waterbalm (moisturizing balm for the face and body). Inspiration for Kinfield struck in the summer of 2017 when Nichole was packing for a camping trip to (yo-semetie) and saw a need for clean, effective, modern products to use in the outdoors—which led her to leave her role as Head of Business Development at Modern Citizen in early 2018 to build Kinfield full time, and launched the brand in June 2019.
On today’s episode we talk about her deep love of traveling and of the outdoors, the power of community, why she chose to file her company as a b-corp and what that process was like, the importance always remembering what you’re solving for, and her mission is to encourage people connect with each other as often as possible in the outdoors.
