The protagonist of the story resembled the man Charlie dated, and just like the man Charlie dated, he struggles to cope with losing his lover to his poor behaviors. Charlie was brought to tears many times reading throughout the small book, but it wouldn't have been her ex-lover if he didn't make her cry at least one last time.
