    MATTHEW 22:15-22 NIV
    [T]he Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap [Jesus] in his words. They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians.

    “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?”

    But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”

    “Caesar’s,” they replied.

    DON’T CONFUSE YOUR POLITICAL IDEOLOGY WITH YOUR SPIRITUAL IDENTITY

    2. FIGHT YOUR SPIRITUAL ENEMY - NOT YOUR POLITICAL OPPONENT

    EPHESIANS 6:12 NIV
    For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

    Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

    There’s almost nothing more personal, private, and intimate than sex. Sex is a deeply sensitive topic, and one that can make many people uncomfortable. Yet the Bible speaks candidly and openly about sex. From the first book to the last book of the Bible, the Scriptures provide extensive insight into the topic. Today, we explore the question of why God cares about what we do with our bodies. We pray that this teaching will bring clarity and encouragement to anyone who seeks to honor God with their body.

    1 CORINTHIANS 7:2-5 NIV
    [E]ach man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

    Jesus had a vision of ethnic unity. His vision was that all believers from around the globe would ultimately unite as one family to love God and love one another. His vision is spelled out in the last book of the Bible where it says that a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnicity and language, would gather before God and cry out with a loud voice, “salvation belongs to our God!” Not only did Jesus have a vision of what he wanted his followers to achieve, he also gave us a strategy to achieve it. Join us today to learn Jesus’ strategy for ethnic unity in the body of Christ!

    FAMILY FOR REAL

    JOHN 17:20-23 NIV

    I pray also for those who will believe in me . . . that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. . . . I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

    CHRIST’S VISION: THAT WE WOULD BE ONE IN HIM.

    We all inherit the DNA of our parents. Our features, our skin color, the texture of our hair, our eye color, the shape of our nose -- all of these features are the result of our genetic inheritance. In addition to inheriting the physical characteristics of our parents, we also inherit their “spiritual DNA.” In other words, we tend to absorb the thoughts, attitudes, patterns, cycles and habits of our parents. But unlike physical traits, which are unalterable, we get to choose which spiritual traits we want to adopt and which spiritual traits we want to discard. God makes us “new creatures.” Our souls belong to him. He gives us the freedom to choose which habits to “put off” and which habits to “put on.” This week, we are exploring what the scriptures teach us about the joy of “building a new you.”
