Operation Gundam Histroy is a podcast to serve as a guide and history of the universe that is Mobile Suit Gundam. Gundam is a franchise that has been around for over 40 years (42 as of 2021). It has propelled itself to be not only an influence in science-fiction media, the ‘brand’ is considered iconic and the de facto mech anime. In fact, you may not have watched it but you would likely recognize the original Mobile Suit if you saw it.

Zeon are desperate and are pulling out the Solar Ray System to deliver a crushing blow but Degwin only wishes for peace. Char and Lalah share a moment and the battlefield but ultimately, destiny prevails.

The Federation has taken over Solomon but are surprised when an enemy is picking them off from afar. We soon learn that Char has Lalah in the field using her newtype abilities to attack the enemy. Soon Char and Lalah are joined by a newtype by the name of Challia Bull, but he's sent from Kycillia. Meanwhile, Sayla confesses that Char is her brother to Bright (forgive me, I forgot to include this in the episode). Finally, Amuro once again saves the day but at the cost of the Gundam's main power unit.

Char is in pursuit with Lalah and is testing the theory that his father use to preach about. Amuro runs into them during his fight with M'Quve and becomes aware that something is different in him, he got that dog in him. Sayla is briefly reunited with Char aka her brother, and part one of the real conflict of Gundam is finally revealed...in this series.

Side 6 isn't what it is caked up to be. Sure, White Base is allowed to dock but with all the rules and regulations, it makes trying to get repairs done...difficult. While at Side 6, Mirai is reunited with her fiancé but as with all things in this series, it's not the happy reunion one might hope for. Meanwhile, Amuro sees his father while out shopping and can't help himself but to follow him. Later on, while trying to find Tem, Amuro meets Lalah and eventually meets the Red Comet Char in the flesh.

I feel seen.
Over the past few years the sub genre of mecha has been in decline. To hear a group of brothers finally pay homage and breakdown one of the best anime of all time is long overdue. These guys get right to the meat and potatoes of the greatness that IS the Universal Century. Only a few episodes in and the pod is already addicting. Can’t wait to hear what else they have in store. To all my fellow fans of the Universal Century, WE HERE NOW!
