Facts That Make Us Go WTF!!!!

Facts That Make Us Go WTF!!!!

A tiny bit of the static you see on "dead" tv stations is leftover radiation from the Big Bang. You're seeing residual effects of the Universe's creation.

Old analog TV can pick up electromagnetic radiation produced from TV transmission towers and converts it to a picture. So Apart from the specific streams of radiation like TV signals the planet is surrounded in a fog of radiation as well - when you tune in between channels what you're seeing is the fog, as opposed to the stream.
Though 99% of the fog radiation the TV is picking up is man-made and 1% comes from the background radiation that surrounds everything in the universe.
Red rain once fell in India.

In July 25th, 2001 blood-red rain fell in the Kerala district of western India.
Turning all the citizens clothing pink. This also occurred in 1896, 1957, 2001, 2012.

It was originally thought that the rains were colored by fallout from a meteor burst, but a study done by the Government of India came to find that the rains had been colored by airborne spores from a local green alga.

Also in 2001, in the southern part of the state. Yellow, green, and black rain were also reported.

The shortest war in history lasted 38 minutes:

When the sultan of British-protected Zanzibar died and a new one took over without British approval in 1896, the Brits were not happy. Tension escalated when Sultan Khalid bin Barghash refused to step down, but the British warships spent less than 40 minutes bombarding the palace before Khalid fled, marking the (very quick) end of the Anglo-Zanzibar War.

This lead to both famous families leaving and relocating out of the Us before returning in the late 70s. Even. In the end, after both of its leaders passed in 1994 after being investigated by the FBI their then 29-year-old son committed suicide after also dispatching a once nanny who had a hand in his abuse when he was young.

The Order of the Solar Temple

Founded in  1984 by Joseph Di Mambro and Luc Jouret, the Order of the Solar Temple and the International Chivalric Organization of the Solar Temple claimed to be based on the traditions and ideals of a Knights Templar.

The group believed that the spiritual outweighed physical, and they also believe in the second coming of Christ as a “Solar deity or God-King” and called for the unity of Christianity and Islam. Pulling inspiration from the Order of the East Temple headed by Aleister Crowley, from 1923 until his death on December 1, 1947, as well as the Order of the Golden Dawn, the Freemasons, and other Rosicrucian groups.

The Order of the Solar Temple had lodges all over the world including Switzerland, Canada, and France. The Order had a level and grading system with the three levels being the Brothers of Parvis, the Knights of the Alliance, and the Brothers of Ancient Times, each containing thee grades in each level. The top 33 members were in a group known as the Elder Brothers of the Rosy Cross.  As one increases in level, there would be fees and the purchasing of costumes and regalia, which included a Crusader-Like robe. The Lodges had elaborate alters and rituals and the members were told that Di Mambro had an authentic Templar sword gifted to him over a thousand years ago previous life past life

Most notably in October of 1994, Emmanuel Dutoit the three months old son Tony Dutoit was stabbed multiple times with wooden Stakes in a lodge located Morin-Heights Quebec.  Allegedly Di Mambro ordered the attack claiming the child was the Antichrist sent to sabotage his spiritual work.  Shortly after DiMambro and 12 followers report performed a ritual of The Last Supper after which mass murders and suicide in sued resulting in the deaths of 74 individuals between 1994 and 1997.

    Raelism

Founded in the 70s by Claud Vorilhon (aka Rael) in France. The Church believes that the Elohim, an alien race, created humanity in their likeness. Rael claimed that on December 13, 1973, that he was visited by the Elohim and gave him these teachings. They claim that the Elohim were mistaken as angels and gods and were worshiped by early humans. Raelians believe that the Elohim will guide the earth to scientific enlightenment and have us join the creators in space. They believe in free love, scientific discovery, and cloning.

The True Way Cult (1955 Taiwan)
Was formed by a former professor who was clearly nuts.
Its beliefs are that the universe is only 4.5 million years old.
The solar system was created by a Nuclear War.

playing Pathfinder and Felicia Day found out through Ashley and then asked if they would like to play it live on Geek and Sundry until they decided to leave Geek and Sundry to strike out on their own and start to stream on Twitch.

There has been many one-shots including,

Doom, Honey Badger, Crash Pandas, and even one From Burger Joint Wendy's.

    Other related CR properties.

    Dark Horse comics

    Vox Machina Origins

    Mighty Nine Origins

    Takes Exrandria

A soon to be Anime being released on Amazon Prime.

A now board gaming company called Darrington Press

And even a charitable foundation called the Critical Role Foundation, a nonprofit Org.

One of the only negatives that can be thought of is The Matt Mercer Effect. Players whose first exposure to D&D and when sitting at a table first time. Having an issue with the DM not doing things the same way as Matt.

Thoughts of the future. With what seems like the season coming to the end with what feels like only a handful of episodes and the feeling of a strong ending looming in the air. Think of maybe 10 episodes max of the intrepid adventures of Vox Machina.
