Half typical aftershow and half personal narrative, this is a podcast about "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" (NBC). Like Zoey, Clara is very close with her father who, like Mitch, has a rare and progressive neurological disorder. Together, she and Dani weave intimate discussions of love, family, death, and dying with episode breakdowns and conversations about the nuts and bolts of making TV.
Episode 209: Zoey's Extraordinary Mystery & Girls' Night
Double the fun with a double episode! We talk glitches, depression, boy bands, and what it means to show up for the people you love.
Episode 208: Zoey's Extraordinary Birthday
This episode is so full of ships, it might as well be a yacht club!
It's Zoey's 30th birthday party, and everyone around her is in love. When she wishes someone would sing to her, she gets a little more than she bargained for from a certain Aussie gent. A fight with Max puts Zoey in a sour mood, but when the dust settles, it's Simon she has her eye on.
This episode was mixed and edited by Lanier Sammons.
Episode 207: Zoey's Extraordinary Memory
Zoey's is back, and so are we! This week, we talk about the perils of trying to recreate a cherished memory, learning to move through your grief in healthy ways, and the beauty of episodes about friendship. Plus, Leif can sing!
Episode 206: Zoey's Extraordinary Reckoning
SPRQ Point experiences a reckoning following Simon's revelations at the press conference. Zoey experiences one in her personal life as well as she comes face to face with her blindspots. Meanwhile, Tobin overcomes his fear of making waves and steps up to support his colleagues. We talk about it all in this very belated episode.
Episode 205: Zoey's Extraordinary Trip
Zoey rebels the only way an Earth sign can, and we're here for it. What we're not here for is the way she treats her friends. Plus, Max's dad seems...nice? And Simon speaks truth to power about racism in the workplace (with some help from Mo, Tatiana, and Nina Simone).
Episode 204: Zoey's Extraordinary Employee (with Torie Hoffman)
Zoey tries to "choose happiness" (with a side of Marcy Playground), George gets fired, Mo and Max are on the rocks, and David calls it quits. We fill in the gaps of this filler episode with the help of our friend Torie Hoffman.
Stick it in your ears
Just as delightful as a previous incarnation (Physical Kids Weekly), but with a bunch of experience under their belts. Let Dani and Clara open doors onto new perspectives for you while they also make with the entertaining banter
Too woke for me
I love this television show and all of the characters and really wanted to love this podcast. However, the hosts of this show spend way too much airtime discussing the characters sexuality and their wishes about everyone’s sexuality instead of focusing on the show and story lines. I was trying to overlook this, although it was getting old. However, when the host lied about President Trump and claimed he was “anti semitic”, that was a bridge too far. You do realize that he has Jewish grandchildren? Why do you think so many Jews support him?? Please do your research instead of repeating lib talking points which are pointedly untrue. You lost this listener.
