From age of 10, she has been creating, over the years she has gained expertise in custom fashion design. And in the mix of COVID she has given some attention to her bridal designs and is releasing a new line of custom bridal gown designs that can fit the unique needs of each bride. In this episode, we will meet Pam Fanjoy. Pam has a personal life mission to cook up change that lasts a lifetime by fostering joyful, healthy relationships while leveraging delicious, healthy food to facilitate the meaningful connections between others to nourish their bodies, minds, and souls. 

She has over 25 years of clinical social work experience working with children, adolescents, and families; then in 2016, she became the CHOPPED CANADA CHAMPION on the Food Network.   In recent years, Chef Pam Fanjoy has also been cooking up a storm by building a business around her life mission and passion. Even in the mix of a pandemic, she delivers a one-of-a-kind Junior Chef Life Skills program which received the BMO FOR WOMEN GRANT  in 2020.

April is autism awareness month. Do you have someone in your life with special needs?

In this episode, we have invited Kelly Leslie, who has 30+ years in education, as a teacher, vice-principal, principal, currently an instructor at Brock University, and most recently an author of children’s picture books that showcases characters with special needs, highlighting their strengths. Her books have helped many educators, parents, and children support and advocate for kids with differences and special needs and helping them flourish.

One in five victims of sexual assault—both women and men—felt blamed for their own victimization.
There is a much higher prevalence of sexual assault among women than men (30% versus 8%).
One in three (32%) women experienced unwanted sexual behaviour in public.

To celebrate women's empowerment as we recognize International Women's Day (Mar 8, 2021), we have invited Andrea Arthur-Brown, a seasoned leader who dedicated her entire career in empowering and supporting survivors of sexual assault. She will share her passion, journey in her career, the organization of Sexual Assault Support Centre Waterloo Region (https://www.sascwr.org/) where she and her team support survivors of sexual violence and work to transform systems that promote gender-based violence. Andrea will also highlight a few practical strategies for supporters and survivors to start the healing process.
