Series: Out of Eden
Speaker: Vivake Baranwal
Passage: Gen 1-3

Series Vision:
The last two years have been hard on many of us as most of us have experienced loss in some way. Maybe that was the loss of a loved one, the loss of an expectation or dream, a job, a friendship, or a sense of freedom. Loss seems to be a shared experience by all of us. Yet, even in the loss, we can see God at work. We know that he is near and that he is providing for us, even if it feels very small or distant.

In this sermon series we are going to engage with loss and God’s provision/presence. Our hope is that we will be able to see and engage with how God is at work in the midst of hurt and loss.

To do this, we are going to interact with the theme of exile that runs throughout the Bible. In doing that, we will see how God’s people experience loss and respond to it, as well as how they experience God’s provision and how they respond to that. Where these stories took place a long time ago, in a world that looks different than ours today, there still are many similarities in terms of how we experience loss, see God’s provision, and respond to his care. In other words, there is a lot that we can learn by reading and engaging with them!
