Out Of State Hunter Chad Ryker

This week I have Blake Henning on from Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to give an overview of elk.  Blake has been with the Foundation for a long time and has a wide knowledge base when it comes to elk.  We talk about the history of elk to the current status of herds in the west and across the USA. 

This week I have Jaden Bales back on the podcast to discuss the recently released proposed changes to the Wyoming Hunting Regulation.  Jaden and I have a great conversation and discuss some of the troubled areas in Wyoming as well as some other areas that offer great opportunity for resident and Out of State Hunters. 

This week I have a different show for you.  I start things off talking about why I think New Mexico is a good state for Non-Residents to apply in and also touch on some points that could discourage you.  I also have a guest Ryan Gentry from Black Horn Guide Service to talk about the outfitter pool and how that works.  Finally, I brought back last year’s show with New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.  We covered so much in that show and since there wasn’t major changes this year, I wanted to reshare it.  The 2023 show was with two members of New Mexico Department of Game & Fish, Nicole Tatman and Chad Nelson. We sat down at NMDGF headquarters to discuss a lot of topics.  We go through the new items in the regulation this year as well as important dates and reminders to remember. This week I talk about hunting regulations, how to use them, and why are they important. Every state has a different regulation, and each state has wildly different rules. Understanding what you should look at and what you need to be aware of in a regulation can increase your odds of success in a state. It can increase your aware of new rules that can impact your application or hunt. Regulations offer so much information to help you with tour hunt. Keep in mind, all of the information in a regulation is valuable and important I cover what I look for up front to help me with application to draw a tag or a hunt after I draw a tag.

This week I have Trey Reid, Assistant Chief of Communications for Arkansas Game and Fish Commission on the podcast to discuss some of the rules, regulations and what opportunities non-residents have in the state. Trey and I cover a lot of information and discuss the best opportunities for non-residents in the state as well as the great opportunity for waterfowl and deer.  There is a lot of great information in this podcast.  If you’ve ever considered hunting in Arkansas, you want to listen to this show.
