    112. We Hear from the Husbands!

This is a story about supporting your partner as they pivot.

This week on the podcast, our husbands join the conversation! Peter and Jon takes us behind the scenes, sharing what it's been like to be married to creatives who totally pivoted from the degree and career that was planned and launched out into the scary world of entrepreneurship.

It's an honest conversation that helped Lisa-Jo and Christie experience what it's like to be on the other side of the microphone--having the freefall experience of trusting someone else to tell your story, not knowing what they might choose to share or how.

Their husbands honestly unpack what it means to support a creative, how to combat resentment and how to define success. It's a must listen today!

    111. Waiting (from a child's point of view)

    111. Waiting (from a child's point of view)

This is a story told in the words of my nine-year-old daughter. A hard, sad story that surprised us both when tears snuck out in the middle of telling it. She and her brothers have waited a long, long time for this yes and she walks us through what helped and how it felt.

If you're in a season of waiting, you're not alone. We really do believe God is with us. With us in the tears and frustration and questions. We do not wait alone.

    109. Advent Calendar Pt. 5: GATHER

    109. Advent Calendar Pt. 5: GATHER

This is a story about remembering our favorite gatherings. We invite you to sit back, get comfy and linger with us around the table as we recall why gathering is a sacred art and a divine calling that shows up in each of our ordinary lives. How gathering doesn't equal fancy and full is always about more than the food.
At the end of a long year, on the cusp of a new beginning, pause with us to remember how God has tucked good gifts even into this season of not gathering. All is not lost. Indeed, everything is still waiting to be savored.
This is the last of our December series intended to celebrate the season together. We hope this Out of the Ordinary advent countdown calendar has brought you practical ideas and real joy right in the middle of your ordinary, extraordinary Christmas season too.

Nourishment for the soul

Lisa-Jo and Christie, THANK YOU for the blessing of this podcast! I have listened for quite some time now but have appreciated your honesty and encouragement more than ever during this crazy time in all of our lives.

I have honestly cut out most media input from my life lately as I seek to listen to the Lord and let HIM care for and instruct my weary heart. But YOUR podcast has been one that I have left on my little list, because it points me straight to the kind, strong arms of Jesus.

I love that you do not shy away from truth, but you present it with such deep humility and with obvious connection to our sweet friend Jesus. Your words help me to make connections each week from the physical world and my physical body and life to my spiritual life- my heart and my soul. You remind me of the things that truly matter, and you do it in a way that is tender, approachable, and humorous all at once- like a good conversation with dear friends.

Thank you again, and please keep up the good work!

Lisa-Jo gets her fix!

I had to stop what I was doing to let you both know you are making a difference!
Lisa Jo reminding us today of what it used to be like as you would drive to visit Christie at Maplehurst acknowledges life is different these days and for many of us it truly is!

2020 has come with a lot of losses for so many of us some small and some quite big, but all are worth counting and naming...

Your beautiful story of what it was like just 7 months ago and your longings for what it was to come again is the markings of your humanity.
You put skin on your stories as you two always do!
Thank you friends for keeping things real.
We love you and look forward to your conversations every Wednesday together...🤍
