Over 50 & Flourishing with Dominique Sachse

Welcome to Over 50 & Flourishing, the show for any woman who feels like she lost her compass in the sea of midlife. I’m here to tell you it’s never too late to change your course and awaken the healthy, wise, and wonderful woman within. My name is Dominique Sachse, and I love to ask questions, which was why I spent nearly three decades of my life in the TV news business. I also started a YouTube channel in 2014 to connect intimately with my community, and I took an even deeper dive in my book Life Makeover - Embrace The Bold, Beautiful and Blessed You. I’ll be the first to say, I’ve made mistakes, and I’m not afraid to be vulnerable and learn from them. I mean let’s face it, this stage of life can be complicated. Children are moving out, relationships are being examined, our parents are aging, and we’re having to manage all of this along with our menopause! It’s easy to lose sight of ourselves, but can I just say.. we matter. So, whether it’s finding ways to enhance and celebrate our own beauty, taking bold steps toward living our best life in the second half of life, finding ways to be healthier, happier, and more spiritually connected, I will bring you thinkers and innovators who share the same passion of flushing out these ideas. It’s my goal to leave us all feeling inspired, thought and intent-driven, and with a sense of purpose in whatever we pursue. Let’s celebrate growing older together and embrace our Prime. It’s our time!

Feeling Tired? This Molecule Could Be Why After 30

🎟️ Don’t miss your chance to experience the Behind the Curtain tour LIVE! Grab your tickets now before they’re gone! Get yours here: https://linktr.ee/over50flourishing In this episode of Over 50 & Flourishing, I sit down with one of the leading minds in longevity science to unpack one of the most talked-about molecules in aging today: NAD. We’ve all heard the buzz, but what is NAD, and why does it matter so much as we age? From energy and brain function to hormones, skin, and metabolism, this powerful molecule plays a critical role in how our bodies function and declines significantly after our 30s. Dr. Andrew Salzman breaks down the science in a way that actually makes sense, helping us understand what’s really happening inside our cells and how it impacts aging, menopause, and overall vitality. We also dive into the connection between NAD, inflammation, the microbiome, and cellular energy, and what we can do to better support our bodies as we move through life. Dr. Andrew Salzman is a Harvard-educated physician and biomedical entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in drug discovery. He has published over 170 clinical studies, holds more than 50 patents, and is known for pioneering work in NAD biology, DNA repair, and longevity science. Stop Faking It: How To Change Your Life in the Bedroom

🎟️ Don’t miss your chance to experience the Behind the Curtain tour LIVE! Grab your tickets now before they’re gone! Get yours here: https://linktr.ee/over50flourishing In this episode of Over 50 and Flourishing, I sit down with Dr. Maria Sophocles for a conversation about sex, menopause, and the changes that can impact intimacy in midlife. Dr. Maria Sophocles is a menopause expert, pioneering gynecologist, TED speaker, and passionate advocate for women’s sexual health. Known for her candid, no-shame approach, she’s helping women reclaim their right to pleasure and better understand the physical, emotional, and societal factors that shape intimacy as we age. Her book The Bedroom Gap explores the disconnect between partners’ expectations and experiences, and offers a new framework for improving communication, desire, and connection. We talk about why so many women feel unprepared for the changes that come with menopause, the truth behind low libido and painful sex, and how hormones, culture, and misinformation have shaped our understanding of intimacy. Dr. Sophocles breaks down the real, practical solutions, from vaginal estrogen and testosterone to simple shifts like scheduling connection and improving communication with your partner. Modeling in the ’90s, Harvard at 40, and Married to a Guns N’ Roses Rockstar

In this episode of Over 50 & Flourishing, I sit down with Susan Holmes McKagan for a conversation about reinvention, courage, and playing the long game. After a successful career as a 90s supermodel, Susan pivoted in her late 40s and enrolled in Harvard Graduate School to deepen and refine her craft as a writer. She shares what inspired that decision, what it felt like to be older than many of her classmates, and how the academic rigor sharpened her writing and strengthened her discipline. We also talk about her nearly 27-year marriage to Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses. How they met on a blind date, what keeps their relationship strong, and what it was really like raising two daughters while navigating life on tour. Susan offers an honest look at the pros and challenges of being married in the rock and roll world and why longevity in love, just like career, requires intention and growth. In this episode, we discuss: Why Susan chose to go to Harvard Graduate School in her 40s after a successful modeling careerWhat it felt like to be the outlier in the classroomHow her writing sharpened and evolved after graduate schoolHow she met Duff McKagan and built a lasting marriage in rock and rollWhat tour life was like while raising a familyThe importance of taking leaps of faith at any ageWhy following your passion matters more than playing it safeHow benefiting from the long game leads to lasting success For more on Susan Holmes McKagan, follow her on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susanholmesmckagan/?hl=en Twitter/X: https://x.com/SuHolmesMcKagan Susan’s book, The Velvet Rose: https://a.co/d/0cZfZwW8 Three Chords & The Truth: https://duffmckagan.com/radio-show/  Thanks to my Sponsors: Ritual: Save 25% on your first month at Ritual.com/OVER50 Hers: If you want clearer insight into your health, go to https://ForHers.com and schedule your labsAudible: Go to Audible.com/BigAgeSeries to start listening todayHoneylove: Save 20% off Honeylove at Honeylove.com/OVER50 Manukora: Head to Manukora.com/FLOURISHING to save up to 31% plus $25 worth of free giftsBloom Nutrition: Go to bloomnu.com and use code OVER50 for 20% off your first order.  Keep in Touch: Website: https://dominiquesachse.tv/Book: https://dominiquesachse.tv/book/Insta: https://www.instagram.com/dominiquesachse/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DominiqueSachse/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dominiquesachse?lang=enYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@dominiquesachsetv Have a question for Dominique? About
