What about the No Man Booker Prize?

Show is now: “Women write good. Men write bad.”

Things had been going downhill for a couple of years now that I stopped listening out of sheer exasperation. Then I saw they had an episode on Annihilation and decided to give them a second chance.
I could not get past the intro.
Ok, I get that white men are burned in effigy all over the place and by extension that includes white male authors. Obviously that includes Jeff VanderMeer, whose last name was intentionally mangled a couple of times so far in order to... what? Crack a dumb joke while straining to score a few Woke Points for bashing a white cis-gender male author?
I can’t think of any other reason why, since I know they wouldn’t have done the same to woman writer. And as a WOC I find that patronizing in itself cause I know they’ll be excessively polite or reverent or try not to offend listeners like me.
I used to enjoy this podcast when it was little more than lighthearted banter about books.
But those were different times and now you can’t swing a straw man with hitting some political-adjacent garbage.
