Overlooked: Naomi The Vine Austin

    • Religion & Spirituality

We continue in our survey of women in the Old Testament called OVERLOOKED. This week, we consider Naomi and the demonstration of God's lovingkindness.

Ruth 1:1-7, 4:13-17

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1. What if anything has been meaningful for you with the daily readings? What questions emerged?
2. What has stayed with you from the sermon- either something encouraging, confusing, or difficult?
3. As a group, discuss and read Ruth chapter 1. As you discuss the beginning of this book, consider what Naomi must have experienced and felt through her experiences.
4. Consider the cycle that Fabs shared in her message, and the cycle we find in God's lovingkindness. What is the difference between the two? Which cycle have you internalized in your life?
5. Read Ruth 4:13-17. Consider the restoration that God created in Naomi's life. What did God provide her?
6. If you consider Naomi's story, you could break it in stages: going to a foreign land, returning home, experiencing the beginning of a new provision, and beholding God's restoration. What stage do you find yourself today?
