Season 2, Episode 21: Devil In A Blue Dress

In a world divided by black and white, Easy Rawlins is about to cross the line.
Its time for another Page To Screen birthday party and you're all invited! Last year Kristina brought us to hell (house that is) but this year we get to dive head first into a modern film noir- Devil In A Blue Dress.
This birthday episode has everything- a femme fatale, the makings of a good TV remake, and soooo much Don Cheadle.

Season 2, Episode 19: The Silence Of The Lambs

Have the lambs stopped screaming yet?
Gather your fava beans and bottles of chianti - this week is all about The Silence Of The Lambs, from our Holly Hunter-esq hero Agent Starling's role as a semi-feminist hero (yeah we said semi....look, the book and movie are different. trust us) to the murderous world of Buffalo Bill and Dr. Lector. Which one of us would definately be taken by Buffalo Bill? Would Bill survive a sewing challenge on RuPaul's Drag Race? And don't worry...we give Jonathan Demme a strong talking to about Bill

Look, we basically spend the whole episode mooning over Colin Firth. You have been warned. But we also discuss awful Lydia, how modern the Bennets are, and yes, we discuss the Darcy swimming scene...but its not what you think!

Season 2, Episode 17: Hidden Figures

This week we talk about the book and movie Hidden Figures. Does Nicole go off an a tagent about how unrealistic Armageddon is? Yes. But we also spend a lot of time talking about these amazingly smart women who helped us win the Space Race! I mean seriously,  why weren't we studying them in school?!

Fun and Informative

Love listening to this Podcast. Kristina and Nicole know more about the books and movies they are reviewing than anyone that just goes to the cinema or shops to pick up a book. You might enjoy one or the other or have read and watched both media forms and have your own thoughts. However these ladies dive in, dig deep, offer fun facts, and perspective comparing the time the work was written or when the film was made to today’s cultural opinions both popular and unpopular alike. Every episode is filled with laughter and sometimes cringing groaning but all of it is entertaining and makes you think and reminds us of why we love books and film. Finally it creates space for you to ask yourself “Which is better The Book or the Movie”

Like hanging out with friends

This is a fun podcast - great chemistry- great delivery- listening to this while on my way to work each episode. Love the fun facts, the humor and their research. It’s just like hanging out and talking books and movies with friends.
