Your Post Baby Body - What Your Mother Never Told You‪!‬ Parenting Our Future

    • Parenting

How many times from pregnancy to parenting do you feel like you are doing it all wrong?  The truth is, we need to have open and honest conversations about the changes in our bodies as a result of carrying our babies.  Often after childbirth, moms are forgotten and everyone is focused on the baby.  Yes, that's wonderful but we are left feeling exhausted, in pain, and reeling from the birth experience.
This episode is all about our bodies as women and our health after we have our beautiful babies. My wonderful guest, Wendy Powell, the founder of the MUTU system , talks about how our bodies change and what we can do about it!
Many women experience urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, painful sex, and diastasis recti which can lead to embarrassment, anxiety, shame and lack of confidence.
Wendy believes every woman deserves the dignity and pleasure of a body that works and feels good.  She helps women, get their power back by supporting them through this time and teaching them how to build their pelvic floor and supporting them with a community of women so no mama has to face this alone.
Wendy has also  launched a campaign called #ByMySide, which is all about raising awareness of the importance of birthing partners during the pandemic. The campaign encourages women to take to social media to post a picture with their birthing partner alongside a message about how important they were.

About Wendy Powell
MUTU System was founded by mother of two Wendy Powell, a globally recognised leading voice on equality and empowerment for women’s health, with almost two decade’s experience in personal training. As the woman behind the best-selling online programme for mothers, trusted by over 70,000 women worldwide, Wendy is loved and recommended by specialist women’s health experts, surgeons, Hollywood celebrity trainers and their clients and even Royalty. The birth of MUTU System as a company stems from the births of Wendy's own children. It was the experience of a traumatic childbirth, which almost caused Wendy to lose her life, which would go on to reshape her entire career and give her a whole new perspective on what mothers have to deal with. Feeling physically and emotionally broken, powerless, useless at performing the most basic of female human functions, Wendy was left reeling from her childbirth experience. She realised that many women feel like this, hurried by well-meaning others to ‘get over it’ or move on. Many women struggle to see their beauty, strength and power. Whether it was recent or many years ago, and however it plays out, she knew that births stay with mothers and can leave them feeling battered, broken and disconnected.
It was here that MUTU System was born. A service for mothers, much like herself, who become out of touch and feel as if they lack control of their own body.  She built what she had needed, but couldn’t find.  The company would go on to fill this void and provide tens of thousands of women across the world with a crucial support system to reconnect with themselves, physically and mentally. Today, Wendy is shifting the conversation on women’s bodies towards equality and empowerment for health, confidence and power. She is also on the Women’s Development Board of charity Microloan Foundation UK and works with medical professionals around the world to improve education, dignity and empowerment for mothers.
