Teachings And Lectures From Park Hill Church

SUNDAY TEACHING 8/2/2020 | THE SPIRIT AND THE DRY PLACE

SUNDAY TEACHING 8/2/2020 | THE SPIRIT AND THE DRY PLACE

At some point in our apprenticeship to Jesus we enter what the Scriptures call “the dry place.” This is where we long for God’s presence, and yet for whatever reason, we don’t feel it. The dry place is a place of promise, testing, preparation, and opportunity. This week we look at the times when we find ourselves in the dry place, and how to be sustained there.

SUNDAY TEACHING 7/26/2020 | DOES GOD HEAL TODAY? (PART 2)

SUNDAY TEACHING 7/26/2020 | DOES GOD HEAL TODAY? (PART 2)

This is part two of "Does God Heal Today?" According to Jesus, the kingdom of God looks like people once blind but now seeing, those once sick now made whole, and people full of shame forgiven. If this is true, why don't we see divine healing happen more often? Should we expect and practice healing in our time? Especially during a global pandemic?

SUNDAY TEACHING 7/19/2020 | DOES GOD HEAL TODAY? (Part 1)

SUNDAY TEACHING 7/19/2020 | DOES GOD HEAL TODAY? (Part 1)

This is part one of a two-part teaching on divine healing. According to Jesus, the kingdom of God looks like people once blind but now seeing, those once sick now made whole, and people full of shame forgiven. If this is true, why don't we see divine healing happen more often? Should we expect and practice healing in our time? Especially during a global pandemic? Which leads us to ask the question, "Does God heal today?"

SUNDAY TEACHING 7/12/2020 | OUT OF THE RUIN, SMALL BEGINNINGS

SUNDAY TEACHING 7/12/2020 | OUT OF THE RUIN, SMALL BEGINNINGS

Where we see loss and death, the Holy Spirit sees small beginnings. The Holy Spirit doesn’t want us to miss the millions of small ways God is working all around us. In the midst of momentary hot takes and headlines and changing circumstances, the Holy Spirit wants to empower us to partner with him in work that will last.

    SUNDAY TEACHING 7/5/2020 | HEARING GOD'S VOICE

    SUNDAY TEACHING 7/5/2020 | HEARING GOD'S VOICE

We believe God speaks, specifically, to those who have the Spirit of God. He speaks directly into our minds and hearts. He has done this all through history. But how does this work? How does God speak? What if it's not God's voice I'm hearing? As a child of God, but what if all I hear is the silence of God? These are important questions for living life in the Spirit.

SUNDAY TEACHING 6/28/2020 | LIFE IN THE SPIRIT MEANS RADICAL COMMITMENT

SUNDAY TEACHING 6/28/2020 | LIFE IN THE SPIRIT MEANS RADICAL COMMITMENT

What does it look like to be the Spirit-driven church in a time like this? Two words: Commitment and Hope. Fresh commitment to God and one another will fuel a hope that will turn the world upside down. In a time of cynicism and indifference, God is calling us to be the Spirit-driven community where commitment fuels our hope, and that hope reveals Jesus to a world in pain. This is the gift we are being called to give one another right now. With all that’s going on, it’s so easy to let our cynicism fuel our indifference and division. We can not let that happen.

A Church Evolved

I’m so incredibly thankful for Park Hill and these podcasts. Not long ago, I hit rock bottom in my spirituality and became disillusioned w the church. The leaders at Park Hill are evolving the way things are done in a very refreshing way. They acknowledge today’s challenges and realities and make sense of them in light of the scriptures. To witness minds like theirs pave this path has been immeasurably encouraging and helpful in restoring my faith in the church.

A church that stands out

I recently started attending Park Hill church and am so impressed. Each sermon packs a punch and is so relevant to living a Christ-like life in the current challenging modern times. I feel so encouraged every week. The podcast is the best resource, especially because I’m not always able to attend service, or if I want to reflect even further on a past weeks message.
