Take Me Deeper - Mikado Hinson
What does it look like to trust God in our uncertainty and let him take us deeper in our faith?
This week we are joined by a dear friend of Passion City Church, Mikado Hinson! Mikado serves as the assistant Athletic Director of Player Development at Texas A&M University.
Money: Good Tool, Bad God
When used well, money can lead to great joy and human flourishing. But when it becomes the greatest desire of our souls, it can cause devastating pain. Money can be a great tool, but it makes a bad god.
This week, Pastor Ben Stuart continues in our series through the Sermon on the Mount and shows us how Jesus challenges us to rethink how we view our finances.
Talking to the King - Brad Jones
Healthy relationships require cultivation. How can prayer help us cultivate our relationship with the king of the universe?
This week, our Atlanta City Pastor, Brad Jones, joins us to continue in our series through the Sermon on the Mount. Pastor Brad shows us how Jesus' teachings on prayer in Matthew 6 model a healthy prayer life, and encourages us to prioritize the time we spend with our Heavenly Father.
The Hassle of Love
Nobody is impressed when you love your friends. How can the people of Jesus be a beacon of hope in a hurting world full of hassle? By loving our enemies.
As we continue in our series through the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Ben brings a call to action for us as the Church to change the city and the world by our love.
Passion City on the Hill: Jesus and Your Sex Life
The proliferation of sexual imagery in the world today has become increasingly harmful for men and women of all ages and has distorted our view of sex. How does Jesus teach us to navigate this difficult topic?
As we pick back up in our series through the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Ben brings us a powerful and grace-filled word about dealing with the problem of lust.
Heavenly Father, Earthly Family
All of us have been placed in our particular families by God for a reason. On this Father’s Day, Pastor Ben Stuart walks us through some of Paul’s teachings about the roles we are meant to play in our families. If God has changed our hearts, how should it change the way we treat our family?
Moving, challenging, changing
Love listening to hese sermons throughout my week. Gives me something to ponder and wrestle through during the day.
On point for people of ALL shades!
We’re people of color living in Texas. We are legal immigrants. We’ve heard Pastor Ben and his wife minister here in Houston often when he visited as the Texas A&M youth pastor. We’ve since fellowshiped at a loving church closer to where we live that is predominantly non BIPOC or as l like to say, non BLIPOC (black, Latino, indigenous people of color).
Since the pandemic shut us down we’ve notice that the Sunday services haven’t changed to address what’s going on in our country. There were weeks where if I had just migrated here I’d never know there was racial tension from attending online services. This drove us nuts. How can one say, “be well”, “have a blessed week” and not tie the message (in a sentence of two at least) to how to navigate as one in God’s love these days?
So we sought out Pastor Ben (and we still listen to Texas A&M’s pastor from time to time) all the way from Houston Texas. Ben Stuart is our current spiritual leader as we we seek God with regards to a permanent church home. He teaches how to be like ‘Jesus with skin on’. Ever heard that saying? May the a lord bless and keep ministries like these.
One of my favorites!
I love this podcast! Is there any way the scripture reference could be added to the details section of each episode?
