Pavin Chachavalpongpun, on Digital Activism, Thailand's Protests and Facing down the Monarchy The Arts of Travel

    • Places & Travel

This is a conversation on Thailand's protests with Pavin Chachavalpongpun. Pavin is an Associate professor at Kyoto University, a frequent contributor to the Washington Post and the founder of 'The Royalist Marketplace' ,  which besides being the World's 18th largest Facebook group, is the source of an incredible battle between Facebook and Thailand's government who hope to block the group to control dissent and criticism of Thailand's Monarchy and King Vajiralongkorn.

In this conversation Pavin and I discuss Thailand's protests, the violence Thailand's Monarchy uses to maintain power, and how digital activism and real-life protests are building a new generation demanding freedom for Thailand
