#300: Arnon Avni, a Peace Activist on the Gaza Border
Arnon Avni, an Israeli cartoonist and graphic designer, is a member of kibbutz Nirim, near the Gaza border. He is a longtime peace activist with Peace Now, Israel’s preeminent peace movement. On October 7th 2023, he hid in his home’s bomb shelter with his wife and two grandchildren, escaping the terrorist attack. Five people were killed in Nirim that day. Others were kidnapped to Gaza. Despite the shock and the pain and the grief, Avni still believes in peace and is determined to pursue it.

I’m new to the Zionism discussion. I’m also new to the Israel-Palestine issue. This podcast is starting to help me form my own identity as a liberal Zionist in the US whilst learning about the devastation and conflict occurring between the two parties.
