    Episode 22 - Discussion Masters

    Episode 22 - Discussion Masters

Of course, with this title we must be talking about us...or maybe not.

If you have been around education long enough, you know the dreaded phrase, the discussion board post.  Many of your students feel the exact same way, but as we know, the discussion can be an excellent place to determine the students understanding on the topic.  It may even be better than trying to use a quiz or exam to get the information.

It is all about how we use the discussion board, and whether we are able to inspire buy-in from our students.  Try the method Ronda mentions such as the discussion master and let us know what you think.

Episode 21 - How Many Eyes are Looking Back at You

Episode 21 - How Many Eyes are Looking Back at You

This week's episode of the Perfect Chaos Podcast is one that is a little different than most that we have recorded.  We talk about the teacher specifically and the spot of the job description that stated "other duties as assigned."  Teachers have always been held in high esteem, and it is from more than the teachers we teach.  In those other duties, teachers commonly become role models, and much of that behavior must continue even outside of the classroom.  After 20 years of sitting with your eyes glued to the teacher, what do you need to know about when they eyes are on you.

Episode 20 - Not Playing Favorites

Episode 20 - Not Playing Favorites

Sometimes our inspiration comes from others, and this week's episode is just that.  After taking a week off for spring break (no we didn't go anywhere cool), we come back together for an episode based upon a Linked in Post.  Do you take into consideration the rewards your give to ensure that you aren't providing an atmosphere of favoritism.  The individual that asked this question was asking in the context of his profession, and the decision to give crews a "cake" assignment, or simply buying their lunch.  In P-12 and Higher ed, we certainly aren't providing overtime pay, but do we reward others and create or foster the environment of teacher's pet.

Make sure to check out this episode and see our thoughts, thank for the inspiration Mike.

Episode 19 - Looking from the Student's Perspective

Episode 19 - Looking from the Student's Perspective

On this week's episode, Ronda and David take on a podcast topic that was suggested by their son, what about looking from the student's perspective.  So they tried to do that, but have they lost the ability like the babies after they started their transition to a toddler in Boss Baby.  Does changing your perspective help the student?  Does it change how you teach?

In addition, this week, Ronda and David reveal their recent partnership with Pursue Outfitters to offer Perfect Chaos Apparel.  Make to visit www.pursueoutfitters.com/perfect-chaos to see the line of stylish and comfortable t-shirts and long sleeve shirts.

Episode 18 - Working with Your Students

Episode 18 - Working with Your Students

In this week's episode of the Perfect Chaos Podcast, Ronda and David look at the customer service venture of education.  The topic of working with your student truly has a slack line mentality.  Working to make sure they succeed is vital to giving students the understanding that you care, but also setting boundaries to protect the relationship.
