Christians Against Christianity w/ Dr. Obery M. Hendricks, Jr. (Moment of Now Series, Part 2)

Christians Against Christianity w/ Dr. Obery M. Hendricks, Jr. (Moment of Now Series, Part 2)

Welcome to the second conversation in our series, "The Moment of Now." Happy Pride Month and Juneteenth! In this episode Tommy, Olivia and Becka talk with Dr. Obery Hendricks. This conversation helps to challenge us as we think about the "Left" and the "Right," as we use these terms to stake out political sides, what are we signaling? What does this mean within spiritual communities?
"Obery Hendricks is one of the foremost commentators on the intersection of religion and political economy in America. He is the most widely read and perhaps the most influential African American biblical scholar writing today. Cornel West calls him “one of the last few grand prophetic intellectuals.”

What I listen to when I want to slow down

I love this show and treasure all three hosts.

Heartfelt/freeing/inspiring 💛

I had no idea what happened to me over a decade ago was the deconstructing of Faith. I knew I couldn’t go on holding my old theology while accessing any tangible joy and love myself.. much less love and accept others. Through this conversation I’ve realized I’m not alone on this journey. My MIND AND heart continued to mend my spiritual life through the vulnerability of Becka and the beautiful souls she speaks with. Permission to Be has uplifted me, informed me, and helped me reconstruct holy things into my life. So heartfelt, funny, insightful... I’m so thankful I found it. OnWARD to more permission to BE joyful, curious, and really honest!
