Peru in the Time of Covid
Peru has been closed for months. David sneaked in there right after Peru reopened in December. It was a very interesting trip. He breaks down all the details of what they experienced, why traveling in the country was probably one of the craziest things he's ever experienced, and finally..... what it's like to be the only person inside Machu Picchu.

Peru Dates to Know: Indepedence Day and Inti Raymi
Peru has quite a few important dates that we recently just passed. The Inti Raymi celebration takes place every year on June 22 which coincides with the Winter Solstice. There is also Peru Independence Day which falls every year on July 28. Finally, August first is Pachamama Day where we celebrate Mother Earth. These are some of the biggest celebrations of the year. However, this year was a bit of a downer due to Covid-19. Therefore we give an update on the situation in Peru and what we are planning going forward.

Customer Reviews
Entertaining at times
Listened to this podcast to reminisce my previous trip in Peru. Has some helpful information to listeners if you can get past the passive-aggressive digs from Dave toward the other participants. Good advice in most parts but I highly disagree with their Vinicunca (rainbow mountain) advice. Don’t skip this because these guys say it so. Yes, it doesn’t look like the gram photos but the challenge of climbing such a high altitude (Everest base camp equivalent) was one of the highlights of our trip and I even got sick. It’s a really hard hike that takes up your entire day and drains you completely but to say skip it because these guys didn’t like it is misguiding. The scenery is breathtaking. Don’t cop out and take a horse just for the picture. The accomplishment comes from pushing yourself and conquering the beautiful, difficult hike.
Great info - could tightened up A LOT
Nice info! If you guys want a lot more listeners & please cut the chit chat 90% & start giving out really useful & well curated info within the first 30 seconds….
Also - tell us what you’re going to tell us - then tell us & then wrap it up. Thank you for the info!
Amazing Peru travel podcast + company!
I just happened to find this podcast a few months before my Peru trip when I was looking up some Inca Trail tips. And I am SO THANKFUL for this podcast and their tour company - Cachi Life. Kevin and David really filled the gaps in my own research and it saved me - from vaccines and eating street food to using Uber vs Taxis. They also cover a few of the tours they offer and I never would have known about the Rayan Community without this podcast. I booked three tours thru them and they were truly outstanding and made for a trip of a lifetime. Everyone has an opinion and these guys are clear that’s what a lot of this is - their opinion. Use it to help guide you, but if you like the pizza in Peru, you like the pizza in Peru 🤷🏻♀️😂 Thanks to Cachi Life for the practical information & the exposure to unique tours that are off the beaten tourist path.
