31 episodes

The character of Moon Knight has a history in the pages of Marvel Comics that spans almost 50 years and includes hundreds of appearances. Moon Knight has been an Avenger, he’s regularly crossed over with Spider-Man and the Punisher, and he has a devoted fan base.

That said, Moon Knight has never appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or on a live action television show, and the character is largely unknown outside of comic shops.

All that could change in 2022, though, as Moon Knight is getting his own Disney+ series starring Oscar Isaac. The show looks like it will be amazing, and Phases of the Moon Knight is intended to explore and celebrate Moon Knight’s history even as it gets fans caught up on everything they need to know before the debut episode. And there is a lot to catch up on. Moon Knight is a crazy character. His origin changes. His powers change. His secret identity changes. Sometimes he loses his way. Sometimes he loses his mind. He definitely keeps readers on their toes.

Each week we will be looking at one “phase” of the Moon Knight, starting with his very first appearance in Werewolf by Night #32 in 1975, and continuing all the way through to stories that just recently hit comic store shelves. If you are a lifetime fan, if you are new to the character, or even if you are new to comics entirely we have you covered. Each week your hosts Duane (who is just getting started on comics) and Dan (a lifelong reader) will review fifteen or so comics from Moon Knight’s past and then get together to talk about the characters, the villains and stories, and how they might impact the Moon Knight TV show.
