Chelsea and Tony Northrup's photography podcast - dig deep into the history, science, and personalities of photography.
STOP buying bad gear
We've made some mistakes buying gear: grey market lenses that couldn't be fixed, flakey adapters, off-brand batteries, the list goes on. We've also received many messaged and emails from YOU that outline how common it is to buy the wrong camera, incompatible lenses, features that don't work, and more. On this episode of the Picture This! Photography podcast, Chelsea & Tony Northrup talk about the most common gear buying mistakes and offer a few tips on how to make more informed choices when making your next purchase.
Polaroid's Rise, Fall, and Revival
Polaroid started with a patent and a toddler's simple question, "Why can't I see the photo now?", and became one of the biggest companies in the world, suffered bankruptcy, turned into a multi-billion dollar ponzi scheme, and was saved by adoring fans. In this episode of the Picture This! Photography podcast, Tony Northrup and Chelsea Northrup take you through the highlights of Polaroid's exciting history.
Crappy Camera Hacks (that actually work)
They aren't pretty, you probably shouldn't try them, but these crappy camera/photo hacks actually got the job done! In this episode of the Picture This! Photography podcast Tony and Chelsea discuss the worst camera/photo hacks they've used to work around the mistakes that arise when you're out taking photos. Some of them are shameful, like using a table as a tripod, and some of them are clever but all of them are hacky.
Dear Clients, Photographers deserve FAIR PAY and...
Tony and Chelsea Northrup discuss the misunderstandings clients have that stress out photographers: editing our photos, asking for discounts on already underpriced shoots, wanting all of the raw photos, thinking the camera does all of the work, and more.
Talent Isn't Enough!
We've all seen naturally talented photographers take beautiful photos with ease but is that enough to support an entire career? In this episode of Picture This! Photography podcast, Tony & Chelsea discuss the many traits of successful photographers and how it takes much more than talent to have a successful career. If you are naturally talented, don't let overlooking other traits hold you back! If you don't think you're talented, don't worry, there are other things you can do to compensate and still find success.
Why Canon will always be #1
Will canon always be the number one camera brand or will Sony pull out ahead? Which camera company is more innovative, popular, and invested in cameras? Tony & Chelsea debate which camera company will come out on top, Canon or Sony?
Thank you for publishing these entertaining, and informative discussions as podcasts.
But be warned they really really hate Pentax
Better in podcast form
This is much better in podcast form. Their videos are fine I guess, but they have a major problem: Chelsea is just too attractive. Who can concentrate with those deep soulful eyes, winning smile, and jokes that are never, ever cheesy?
By listening to it in audio only, I'm able to maintain my child-like innocence, and spend all my time salivating over expensive camera gear as God intended. A+
