The Brilliant Universe of Complexes, Part 3: Love Shackles – Glimpse of Brilliance #116
Maayan is joined for Part 3 in the world of complexes by the fantastic and wise David Rottman, NYC-based psychotherapist. We discuss Love Impact of Complexes (after having dived into how they work and how they affect career). We discuss how love complexes are similar/different to career complexes, how they manifest themselves in flight/fight responses, and what their underlying purpose is.

The Brilliant Universe of Complexes, Part 2: Career Impact – Glimpse of Brilliance #115
Maayan is joined by the fantastic and wise David Rottman, NYC-based psychotherapist. We discuss Career Impact of Complexes (after having dived into how they work last week). Things I didn’t know – complexes can have negative and positive impact on career from an outside perspective (ie, you may be driven to success); complexes exist because of a PAY-OFF that’s going on, always; career complexes are generally associated with the FATHER image vs love complexes (more on that next week) which are linked to the MOTHER image. Delicious exploration.

The Brilliant Universe of Complexes, Part 1: How They Work – Glimpse of Brilliance #114
Maayan is joined yet again by the fantastic David Rottman, NYC-based psychotherapist. We discuss COMPLEXES. We know them as ISSUES. They’re pesky and resilient little things. We’ll be looking at them over the course of a few episodes. We begin with defining them through helpful examples and explaining how they work. How they impact our lives and what to do about it will happen in the following weeks. Stay tuned for that!

Posing Schmosing: Life Lessons From An Expert Model – Acceptance – Glimpse of Brilliance #113
Maayan brings on her darling friend Rachel Woods whom she met in NYC and who has been modeling since age 10. It’s not looks, or type, or thinness that determines success but rather qualities that we can all appreciate. In this second part, we look at acceptance – of yourself and the industry. Another great insight and reality check.

You Better Have These Qualities If You Want Quality Friendships – Pillowtok #54 – RE-RELEASE
From way back to the brilliant past when Maayan chatted with Lauren, here’s a worthwhile listen! We like to talk about friends. Making them, keeping them, relating to them. This week we’re talking about the HOW and WHY someone becomes and stays a friend. Think about it—why are you drawn to some people and not to others? Who’s been your bestie for decades and who has slowly become a stranger as time and space separated you? What are the must-have qualities in a person to keep that bond tight, and are their deal-breakers that cause you sever it? It’s something that happens subconsciously all the time, but we’re here to tease it out into full consciousness. Join us!

Customer Reviews
Fun, funny, inclusive
I feel like I'm talking to two dear friends who are smarter than me when I listen to this podcast. I'll actually start talking out loud, formulating a response to an open question they just put out, or adding on my own two cents about something personal they just shared about growing up, or just being a human being. Great chemistry and shooting star kind of podcast talent, and they get tighter with every episode.
Like having friends over
I love listening to this podcast! It’s almost like having two friends with me while I clean my house and wash my dishes. I tend to listen to Pillowtok when I am the beginning of a chill night at home. The girls are very calming and it is fun to hear their opinions, even if I don’t always agree. Fun topics and fun conversations, try it out! My review would be four stars if you included more legitimate sources for the info you talk about. Quoting wikipedia is a pet peeve of mine, the good sources are usually at the bottom of the wiki page.
One of the most entertaining podcasts
These two have such great chemistry! The combination of scientific tidbits and real-life scenarios makes it a successful, highly-entertaining chat. They are not afraid of any topic, no question is too hard to answer, which is admirable in this day and age. Very energetic and honest exchanges.
