Great Perspective/Context

I find this podcast incredibly helpful when listening to news about Texas because it doesn’t just report the news. Too many news outlets just report on what some public figure said. This podcast puts the statements of these individuals in context which, for me, greatly helps evaluate the validity of what is being said.

Used to be pretty good

I follow about a dozen news brief podcasts from around the world in an effort to get a variety of perspectives. This is one of those I’ve listened to daily for years.

Lately, though, since the previous backup announcer seems to have been made permanent, I’ve given it up. It’s just too painful to listen to her. I’m not trying to be unkind—I’m sure she brings plenty of skills and talents to the organization—but reading the news is absolutely not one of them. Lack of inflection, mispronunciations, etc. Not everyone is good at public speaking or even reading aloud. Please, please bring back the previous host, or at least get somebody who is actually suited to the job. Until then, you’ve sadly lost a listener.

Dripping with bias

I don’t listen to Fox or Cnn because I just want news. I don’t want to be told what to believe or have virtue signaling shoved down my throat. I just want info. I’m very interested in what happens here in my home state and I like to keep up with the politics and general NEWS. I hoped to find that here. But after over a year of trying to stomach the grossly obvious bias, I feel the need to communicate this is not what I want as a subscriber. Of course we all have political views and opinions but I can come up with those on my own. The way the Texas tribune has chosen to “report the news” is biased at best and fictional at worst. I’ll say at times it is sprinkled with hints of useful info but honestly I would be better off getting my news from a cow pattie. I’m extremely disappointed and I’m sure this review will go ignored but maybe it will stand as a warning for other listeners who would rather listen to pure information and not someone else’s political ramblings. I don’t care who’s side your on, I just want news. Unfiltered and unbiased
