Farewell to Pivot & Thrive: Exiting Survival Mode to Embrace Purpose

We're no longer pivoting this year.

In this episode, we unpack why we often feel the need to pivot, why our needs being met can either lead us to success and creativity, or keep us right where we are. By breaking down Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, this episode discusses the importance of identifying what you need to reclaim your purpose.

By exiting survival mode we no longer resist purpose. Here' to focusing on thriving this year.

Unscripted: What Story Are You Living? (Navigating Patterns and Narrating Your Story)

Unscripted: What Story Are You Living? (Navigating Patterns and Narrating Your Story)

The patterns that we practice are often at hand in building our story. And, in order for our story to change, we have to change our pattern! In this episode, I'm joined by my friend Farida Labaran (Cardiac Surgery RN), and we unpack the patterns that have kept us stagnant in romantic relationships, friendships, and our own personal journey, and dive into how we narrate our life's stories. As you join us in conversation, I invite you to think about:

What patterns you've allowed yourself to adapt due to unhealed hurt?
What or whose voice are you inviting to narrate your story?

It's You Season: Shifting to fullness and daring greatly.

It's You Season: Shifting to fullness and daring greatly.

How do you know when you're truly living in fullness and fruitfulness? Do you find yourself shrinking back or hiding the bits of you that make you excellent? In this short but sweet solo episode, I reflect on my recent homecoming to London (after almost 4 years, being awakened to the fullness of self, reasons we shrink instead of thrive, and differentiating escape versus pivoting. Journey with me to uncover:

    - giving ourselves permission to escape (especially when things at home are not fruitful.
    - challenging every insecurity that prevents us from living in fullness
    - daring greatly to pay attention to areas that need healing, growing, and radical honesty.

The Reckoning of Readiness: Relationships, compromise, and the cost of the pursuit.

The Reckoning of Readiness: Relationships, compromise, and the cost of the pursuit.

How do you know when you are genuinely ready for a healthy relationship? Are you more or less willing to compromise your values as you age? How do you define, identify, and express your needs in a relationship in order for it to be successful? In this episode, I'm joined by my friends, Tope Ajala and Makando Mutanda, for an intimate and reflective conversation on readiness.

    Join us to discover:

Why we self-sabotage (potentially healthy) relationships.
How to apply grace and when to sacrifice in order to relate to and serve your partner.
Identifying the core values that enable us to be less flexible with what we require from our partners and in relationships.
Understanding how our experiences, traumas, and history of relationships greatly impact how we want to be pursued and how we also pursue.

    And finally,

The reckoning of readiness with practical ways to gauge what you need, and release yourself or your partner when you are beyond your window of tolerance.

Romantic relationships are beautiful but extremely complex, as two individuals with different perspectives strive to understand themselves, and one another. Oftentimes, the more we understand ourselves, the less willing we are to budge when it comes to our needs being met within these relationships. However, that comes with the readiness of doing the deep work to get to a place of self-awareness and willingness to sacrifice.

The Intricacies Of Success - Part 2: Starting With The End In Mind, with Claud Williams

Have you ever felt as though you've failed after an unsuccessful relationship? Often, we tell ourselves a relationship is only successful if we achieve marriage -- forgetting the importance of setting achievable goals (in everything), and failing to realize we only have control over 50% of our relationships. In Part 2 of "The Intricacies of Success", I'm joined by Claud Williams, founder of Dream Nation. In this episode, Claud shares the fortright realitiy of defining success in purpose and romantic relationships. He challenges us to think deeply about how we show up, for ourselves and others; and assume accountability where we fall short of achieving our goals.

Grab a drink, and let's get into it!
