    • Sports

Welcome back to Girls on the Sideline. This week, the girls are discussing their theories and opinions on the bad NFL TV ratings and the controversy surrounding how the Florida versus LSU game was handled in the wake of Hurricane Matthew and the aftermath of the decisions that were made. There’s been a lot of controversy around this game this week and we’re going to share our opinions on what is going on, and how it will affect the future of LSU football.
In addition to these hot topics, we’re also going to discuss our thoughts on the NFL and college football “toning down” on teams wearing pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Highlights of Today’s Episode:
Discussing whether Tennessee is ‘back.’ Thoughts about the FCC East and FCC West teams. Why did Missouri seem to fall off the map? How has Hurricane Matthew affected this week’s games? The Melancon/Avon household trials and tribulations surrounding the Florida/LSU matchup. Jeremy Foley’s decision and the fallout that followed. How players’ overall statistics are affected by one decision. The FCC Commissioner’s thoughts about the LSU/Florida situation. Our thoughts about teams wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and players showing support of other causes.  Domestic violence within the league. Our thoughts on why TV ratings for NFL football are down across all networks. Results of retiring players in order to save money by recruiting younger, less experienced players. The new NFL social media policy.
Lindsay’s MVP & LVP of the Week:
This week’s MVP award goes to – the Chicago Cubs for their hard work and hopefully they get their first win in a century! This week’s LVP award goes to – the San Francisco Giant’s bullpen for imploding in the ninth inning.
Whitney’s MVP & LVP of the Week:
This week’s MVP of the week goes to – nineteen-year-old Toronto Maple Leaf’s Auston Matthews who plays center. He played his first NHL game ever and scored four goals against the Ottawa Senators! This week’s LVP of the week goes to – Joe Oliva for his role in the destruction of Lindsay’s team, the city, and two small schools.
