The Fongaro Winery was born in 1975 from the passion and commitment of its founder, Guerrino Fongaro. Since the beginning the founder’s strongly believed in the cultivation of an native Veronese grape variety: Durella. The name of the grape also gives the name to the type of wine developed: Durella the grape, Durello the wine. The Durella is one of the oldest and most typical vines of the Lessini Mountains, area where the company stands. The winery is located in Roncà (province of Verona) and is part of the Lessinia National Park where an extinct volcanos left us a fantastic soil structure composed of basalt. In 1975 the Fongaro Winery decided to focus its activity on the exclusive production of Classic Method Sparkling Wines. The use of this grape variety (Durella) with particular characteristics, enhanced in the sparkling process, and the long skilled experience made it possible today to offer a unique and unmistakable product in the panorama of Traditional Method Sparkling Wines. An added value to our Spumante was the advance of the times’ choice, since 1985, to embrace the principles of organic agriculture, becoming one of the first organic winery in the Veneto region. This style of production once again underlines the respect and love for the land, and also guarantees high standards of the product’s quality.To date, the management of the company has passed into the hands of Tanita Danese, a young agriculturist and oenologist who has long been linked to the Fongaro family. With her skills and experience, she is expanding the vision of the winery, inextricably linking tradition and innovation.

Marc Millon, VIA Italian Wine Ambassador 2021, has been travelling, eating, drinking, learning and writing about wine, food and travel for nearly 40 years. Born in Mexico, with a mother from Hawaii via Korea and an anthropologist father from New York via Paris, he was weaned on exotic and delicious foods. Marc and his photographer wife Kim are the authors of 14 books including a pioneering series of illustrated wine-food-travel books: The Wine Roads of Europe, The Wine Roads of France, The Wine Roads of Italy (Premio Barbi Colombini), and The Wine Roads of Spain. Other titles include The Wine and Food of Europe, The Food Lovers’ Companion Italy, The Food Lovers’ Companion France, Wine, a global history. Marc regularly lectures and hosts gastronomic cultural tours to Italy and France with Martin Randall Travel, the UK’s leading cultural travel specialist. Robert Joseph is an associate editor of Meininger’s Wine Business International, which he helped to launch in 2006. In 1983, after living in Burgundy for five years, he launched the Wine International magazine; set up the International Wine Challenge; became a wine writer for the Sunday Telegraph, and wrote The Wine Lists, the first of his 25 books. He has chaired and launched over 50 wine competitions in Asia, Europe and the UK. Robert has been in Who’s Who since 2013, and the awards he has received include the Jacob’s Creek ‘Golden Vine’; ‘the Best Wine Guide in the World’; the Glenfiddich (twice); The Wine Guild of the United Kingdom Premier; the Marques de Caceres. He regularly appears on television and radio and has lectured at the Wine & Spirits Educational Trust, Burgundy and Sonoma Wine Business Schools. Joseph is one of the trio behind Hugh Kevin & Robert Wines whose le Grand Noir range now sell over 3.8m bottles per year in over 60 countries. His website is winethinker.com. Juliana Colangelo is a leading communications and marketing professional for the beverage alcohol industry. During her tenure at C&P, Juliana led the development of the California office, growing the agency’s domestic presence to a dedicated office of 15 people with representation of leading wine companies such as Jackson Family Wines, Far Niente, Charles Krug Winery, Foley Family Wines and more. Juliana has completed her WSET Level 3 and her eMBA in Wine Business with Sonoma State University. In 2021, Juliana was named one of PR News’ Top Women in PR in the “Rising Stars” category. Authenticity and transparency are the basis of the wine storytelling, impacting customers and creating trends. His goal is to help companies communicate unique sensations in wine, while increasing digital brand awareness and sales velocity.

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, McKenna is a Certified Specialist of Wine (2021), Certified Sommelier (2022), and Italian Wine Ambassador (2023).
She loves country swing dancing, hosting brunch parties, and sipping Italian Wine.
